Apex Legends is a battle royal game in which up to 20 three-man squads land on an island before searching for weapons and supplies to then attempt to defeat all other players in combat. The final team alive wins the round. The game is set in the same sci-fi universe as Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall franchise.[1]

Unlike other prominent battle-royal games, Apex Legends is also similar to “hero shooters”, in that it allows the player to choose from a selection of player characters before each round, each with a unique set of skills. The characters are known as “legends” within the game.[2]

The game focuses heavily on teamwork and includes a much praised system of nonverbal communication, known as “Pinging”, which allows players to use their game controller in order to communicate to their team things like directions, weapon locations, enemies and suggested strategies.[3]

Using the “Ping” command will create an icon (a so-called Ping) to appear at the location where the player is looking which is accompanied by an appropriate voice line from the player’s in-game character. The Ping will be visible to the player as well as their teammates for a short duration. The Ping icon defaults to a “Go” command, which suggests to the squad an area to explore. However, if the player is looking at something specific (such as a weapon or a piece of equipment) then the Ping icon will change contextually to highlight the presence and location of that object.[4]

The Ping command system also has more advanced functionalities, such as tapping the Ping command twice in quick succession to highlight enemies, holding down the Ping command to bring up more detailed options, Pinging when you need ammunition or equipment, context-based Pings which are unique to characters within the game, and being able to respond to or cancel prior Pings.[4]

  1. ‪Why can’t twitch do better is my question?

Example: If someone comes into a streamers chat and says something rude/negative/racist/ etc and then they ban them.. and then that same toxic person goes into another streamers chat and does the same thing and then they ban them.. and yet again that person goes into another streamers chat and does the same thing and then that streamer either times them out or bans them..

Simply, my question here is…… Why can’t TWITCH make it so you can only have ONE account through a phone number so that once your banned you’re done??

That is one account harassing 3 different streamers in a week or day so why isn’t it that twitch being held accountable and permanently banning that account??

Its that type of action is consistently happening from one account per DAY/WEEK/MONTHLY/YEARLY…
SO WHY ISN’T THIS ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY BANNED???

Its those type of accounts that are obviously harassing streamers constantly. Whether it be for hate, attention, or stupidity.. call it how you see it.. whatever..

These things on Twitches end needs to be held more accountable than just being able to make new accounts as soon as they’re banned from a channel.. It’s just sad af how this is even still a thing!

There is way to many chances for harassment!

Rude ass people would think twice before doing half the shit they do or say because it would mean a perma ban. They’d either not do it as bad, or pick and choose the one time to be rude and get banned and never be able to use twitch again. They’d be banned forever!

Either way once they’re gone.. that’s a WIN! But most likely twitch would never do something like this because those selfish assholes just want money!!! Instead of actually doing what’s right! They should know better by now and support their streamers making them all that money and they should be supporting anti bullying as well. It’s seriously so sad.

Also the generated bots people get to send as hate raids needs to be found out from what account sent them and ban those accounts too. WHY AM I DOING TWITCHES JOB FOR THEM???

  2. She doesn’t deserve hate . But it’s common sense that, taking a day off will not make other people less racist. It’s about showing compassion as a big steamer to those who don’t have voices. Standing up for others who don’t have as big of platforms… she says “blackouts do nothing” but still herself does nothing.. even a little acknowledgement will just make a difference

  3. She's right. I don't like her. But she's right. Taking that day off didn't even give Twitch an itch. In fact, it probably made them happy. The people sating their need to protest and coming back the next day isn't gonna hurt Twitch. It's a sad truth, but fact is they're gonna run the business til its about to crash then sell for $$$$$$. They don't need to care about individuals anymore.

  4. Oh god we must live in a great world if this is what’s getting people mad why do I hear more about lulu getting hate then this movement against hate! Sooooo they way you get other to join us to actually do more hate lmao! This is all the way fucked up!

  5. I mean, if I was in a situation like that and it was my livelihood vs a protest that I personally didn't see making any difference….I'd probably see it from my own position. Yeah that's probably selfish and someones gonna call cis white privilege's (which is true) but for Lulu here, what she does and does not do IS about her, and the community at large for these issues like to alienate people that would otherwise be a quiet supporter, or support in other ways.

I just think all that effort that went into harassing Lulu would definitely have been better served writing to people who actually have the power to make changes, like twitch directly, or even getting legislators involved. Not to discount those people, but it seems like they just took the opportunity to strike at someone who was more or less not going to strike back. An easy target if you will.

  6. Ok it's unhealthy to worry about other people when you, your self have stuff to do. Sure speaking out for them is fine. But taking a day off of work isn't going to help them. Twitch has to be held accountable and has to fix this. But people hated on her for saying that. I see these people harassing her as a problem too. People OVER REACT in this culture and I hate it.

  7. This situation is a great example of mob mentality. If you don't follow what the mob says then they will come after you. Lulu is not against the cause but realizes that this is a twitch issue not a streamer issue.

  8. Imagine casually saying “people weren’t mad at Nick Mercs because he’s not really seen as an ally” what is Nick ok with hate raids and racism now? There’s not really any good reason anyone hated on Lulu and not Nick. Nick is a much bigger and more well known streamer, if anything he should have had way more bs for streaming that day.
