I think the problem is that some people are new to gacha games and on't know how things work when characters come out.
Gacha players wait for live streams to see the stats and abilities then try to judge IF they might be op or not. No one is playing a guessing game from a trailer.
Also you can sometimes tell or gets hints on play styles like for instead childe my dude is literally playing like an assassin of course he is a DPS. Zhongli. Most geo characters play style is def.support. of course he isnt gonna be a super OP dps hes a tank
