Why Zed, Talon and Qiyana Are Invading Jungle | League of Legends

Apologies for this video coming out so late! We ran into a few delays with it. Anyway today we’re gonna be discussing the increased presence of assassins in the jungle role, namely Talon, Zed and Qiyana. Moreover, I want to talk about how they’ve managed to acquire such a massive playerbase in such a short time, and whether or not their switch to the jungle is justifiable or pointless.

  1. Maybe adjust most/all assassins to be junglers only/mostly/weaken their power in mid so that mages etc. can be more reliably picked in mid, people play more jungle and assassins may get less frustrating/general map awareness increases?
Also, buff the damage to monsters on aurelion sol‘s passive and he would become much more popular!

  2. I think these 3 are in a specific situation of being frustrating because they're Assassins. Assassin Junglers really don't need new additions from existing champion pools, because as brought up in the video, some of the existing ones are already problematic. Though I think a big reason for all this is Riot's refusal to allow Tanks to be good anymore. Assassins are held down by Tanks, but Tanks can't hold down Assassins anymore so they become way more frustrating to play against. Then you combine that frustration of dealing with Assassins, and then shove them into a new role where they haven't been for years. People complain about Zed Jungle because he's not a known value in Jungle but he is a known value in Mid. Kha isn't complained about as much because he is a known value in Jungle. Assassins aren't a class of champions that needs to be expanded on with existing champions in the jungle because they inherently work really well in the jungle and it's retrofitting champs into a complicated role without changing anything else to make them more easily manageable for people dealing with them.

Edit for Clarity: I think things like Karthus Bot, Ziggs Bot, Trynd Mid, etc are all much easier to accept and deal with because they're in lanes. It's a lot easier to adjust to lane changes than it is to Jungle changes because you're dealing with someone constantly. You learn their general power level in the first trades and can guesstimate their power going forward based on that and the following trades. Junglers just kind of appear however strong they are and you have to pray they aren't stronger than you can deal with when they're a new face to the role, which can be even harder to gauge correctly when you have existing expectations from that champion.

  3. I kind of liked the jg changes from the sole standpoint that it allows me to play champs that are typically regulated to laning. I like having an excuse to play teemo or zed jungle since I hate laning lmao

  4. yes but when riot buffed amumu for 1 patch everyone went crazzy. like the biggest shit right now is that no one plays jg tanks. ok maybe zac or nunu. but there are no other team base champ like sejuani, amumu etc. why no ornn jg, or malphite or alistar?

  5. honestly for me (And keep in mind this is coming from an ADC player who wishes my role wasnt almost a troll pick for once in 3 damn years…) my opinion on troll picks is veyr much well…based on the pick and how much I feel it can be viable.
example? support ekko. I like playing him, but I only do so if my adc is okay with it. it's weird but…what does a support provide? well supports can provide cc…damage…pressure to get the opponent out of lane.
can ekko stun? yes. can he do fuckloads of damage in quick trades and get back out? also yes. he's kinda like pyke in a way. more aobut quick burst trades or quick 100-0s rather than poking or shielding.
ahri support? sure. decent poke, has a cc int he form of her charm…like a lux. it works
kayne support? I'm sorry but you cant quickly get in. you dont have a lot of poke. you cant really provide any pressure or a lot of damage. please, dont do this to me.
for me "troll/off-meta" picks are all about maknig sure you can still perform your role. (I've had a friend pick Nami jg before and yea…didnt have high hopes. didnt go well. because she didnt have fast clear, ehr ganks were weak, she wasnt very survivable…).
…aaand heres the mini salty adc rant:
I do still wish adc was jsut that, ADC. it's the one role that I feel like should be what it is. attack damage carry, marksman, whatever. it's the ranged, physical damage dealer who does the bulk of their damage with attack moving and auto attacks. So having seraphine, swain, ziggs, yasuo, yone, and a bunch of others all being just my job but BETTER makes me really tilted. like…other roles HAVE sub roles. top can be tank, bruiser, in rare cases mage (like ryze) (Yes, Id o hate things like quinn and vayne being in top. but thas a rant I feel a top laner has more knowledge of than me.)
mid is usually assassins or mages, adn often can roam and/or waveclear well
jg can be assassins, mages, tanks, and even an odd marksman here or there.
supports can be enchanters, poke mages, engage or defensive tanks.
ADCs….literally have it in their name. the NAME OF THE ROLE…is ranged physical damage dealers.
yes I know it's technically called bot now but it's been called ADC for SO LONG that that's still the go-to term and I did openly admit this is just me being salty as an adc main that I feel like I just can't play my favorite role without basically knowing I'm going to struggle to do anything in the current state of league.

  6. It wouldn't be so bad if the champs weren't already overpowered before putting them in the jungle. Especially Quiyana. Don't see why any one champ should or shouldn't be in the jungle it's just when new picks start to choke out every other champ and it becomes instantly pick or ban thats the problem. Like what happened with morg and rumble. If riot introduced them not being so blatantly overpowered there's no issues. In saying that it's not good for the game either when Lee sin was the strongest jungler for 6 months straight due to unnecessary buffs that made him the best pick in 3 different roles for too long.

  7. 0:21 wrong… when league started most people came from dota/warcraft which was already pve or had pve elements, and league is a mod of dota.
People that never played an rts game then they play league and complain the game is too hard when they literally have no foundation, which is why there's so many shitter's in this game

  8. i have to disagree on the diversity part, its not that we dont like seeing new champions on the role (as a top main) but that those champions that are allways seen become the gate keepers of what can be played in the lane, for example: if your champion in top-lane cant have an even match-up against the 4 top lane waifus (fiora, camille, irelia, riven) you basicaly dont get to play the game, and obiusly not every champion can deal with all of them so you have a large pool of champions that can only deal with 1 or 2 of the waifus but gets stomped by the others, so it eather becomes ''you need to be second pick to counter the waifu" or you must play the waifu. but instead of working with the large pool of champions allredy in the roll, riot desides to put a popular champion from another roll on said lane to "add diversity" instead of working with the weaker laners that are allredy there. it just a band-aid solution to the diversity problem

  9. I play SMITE where every Jungler is an Assassin, by definition. But that game has wards that cover a much larger area and are purchasable by everyone each back, so it's never as suffocating as things like Talon. There's just not enough vision on League's larger map to since Riot culled it to decrease game length.

  10. I really miss Qiyana jg, but not with this Q dmg bonus, but the W AS n' MS boost before to go high clear, high objective control, n' Riot decides to ruin her like that
