  1. Damn Vee your so negative. You obviously have no idea lorewise or storywise what's going on in Shadowlands, plus the game features like Torghast, the leveling revamp that makes leveling so much better, the ton of customization options that they're adding in, the 4 split storylines with the Covenants, the fact we've had multiple allied races the last two expansions. there's a lot to be excited about with Shadowlands. Also the Night Fae lady isn't all that ugly 😛 that's just you. If you've actually been following the lore you would know that the Necropolis in Maldraxxus were the original and that the scourge was modelled after Maldraxxus. Storylines from Wotlk are directly connected to this. The fact that Dreadlords are actually more than just demons is amazing. The Graphics aren't that bad either. Man you don't know what your talking about with this expansion there is so much to be excited about if you've been paying attention.

  3. They really need an RTS of WarCraft, to present the new villains. 'cause all these faces? I don't even know who they are and what they do. I don't even hate them. They're so generic it's actually funny.

  4. @Lack of Entertainment The one thing that stops me from playing WoW again is the 'paid subscription' you say you buy it but the game you never really own, in my mind it would be better if it were a single-player game. That way I don't have struggle with some 13 years old or otherwise snotty player. I like games online to an extent the extent is Call of Duty or battlefield your online for 30 to 40 minutes and that's it win/lose the match. I MMOs that don't charge you anything to play such as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic or Warframe. Of course, if want more bang for your buck pay up.

  5. those angels look like the angel-like characters in Diablo and also somewhat like the divine beings from Champions of Norrath (which i always felt was a bit of a Diablo 2 rip-off)
That weird elf with the tree branch horns looks like something out of Kingdoms of Amalur.

Long story short – Blizzard is out of ideas and just stealing and recycling ideas from other IP's

  6. I played WoW only on private servers and I really liked it. But I only played expansions up to Cataclysm. Kung Fu Pandas looked dumb to me and out of place.
I only played private servers because I think buying a game and then ALSO pay a monthly subscribtion to have access to the game that you already own is just a super greedy and dumb business practice and anyone that thinks this is good deserves to get their wallet stolen. You either have me pay for a subscribtion or have me buy the game, but not fucking both! I ain't retarded enough to fall for such a scam.

  7. When were Blizzard's women ever hot? that's right, they never were. Blizz has never made pretty looking women, they always made sexy bodies with warrior faces or the other way around.

  8. As someone who just picked up the game again recently after a break for about 2 years I can tell you that I am more excited for this expansion than I was for any other than probably Lich King. The game is really fun right now, which is something it has been lacking for such a long time. If you’re interested in why I’m willing to pay for and play the game right now I’d be happy to share.

  9. I am far from defending Blizzard but your assessment is disconnected from reality. Apart from covenants being connected to player power which will lead to massive clusterfuck of broken balance, Shadowlands seems really packed with fun new stuff. And we really don't need more classes or races. We have been getting new races as allied races so there is no need to tie one to an expansion.

  10. They completely ran out of ideas after Legion. Legion was the grand finale of Warcraft.
And yes, thats literally that guys job, is to redeem or discard souls. Also I think when you say Panda/Cata/etc trailer, you mean the intro. This is not the intro for Shadowlands.

  11. I have been watching hundreds of hours of people responding to WoW. From what I gathered, people play because of friends, added a ton of systems (yes garrison command tables and daily quest are still back though) and I guess people want to have their own fantasy. I will not be playing either. Also the other shadowlands trailer, the one with the warchief, was one of the most downvoted trailer. More than Mist of Pandaria if you can believe it.

  12. Questing not mattering anymore is true. Community definitely did die during the end of WotLK. But I think what bothers me most is the overal structure and focus of their end game.

I think the tiered raid systems of classic, BC and the start of WotLK were so engaging. ToC/ToGC and ICC was the start of the death of WoW, imo. The idea of having to progress as a Gruul/Mag guild to a SSC guild to a BT guild was awesome, and seeing so many different guilds on different levels of this timeline at the same time was cool. Doing it as a group while keeping your core intact was a true triumph, with, typically, the BT guilds on the server poaching from SSC guildes, etc, as if it was their personal farm system. Or from the other perspective, being a young kid with tons of free time and a willingness to commit to the game, if skilled enough you could be very good at the game and climb to a BT guild and play with the best players in the world. I loved these competing dynamics. And like you said, it made for some drama from time to time. That was fun. Having every player in the entire game all doing ICC all at the same time seemed very artificial and stale. And if you were in one of the top guilds, you were doing ToC normal and heroic on 10 and 25man and potentially split runs of all of these if you were pushing server/region firsts. Burnout >_>

You see this same kind of raid system perpetuate itself through Cata, MoP, etc. until, due to public casual outcry, it reaches a critical mass of degradation: the introduction of Raid Finder. Then titan forging. And then the nail in the coffin: Post Cap Progression Systems. At this point not only is the entire raid system landscape borked, they're introducing a player attention retention system to impress the board at their quarterly earnings meetings. This one feature has sucked so much fun out of the game. It used to be that you prepared yourself for raid by strategizing, gathering consumables, practicing your rotation, whatever it is you need to focus on to improve your raid performance. Now it is simply, go farm x number of dungeons to get arbitrary power gains so that you can perform in raid.

The worst part of the introduction of this system is that they've forced you to make a fundamental decision: do you care about how you perform in raids? And if the answer is yes, as any sane person focused on raiding would suggest, then you must donate z hours of time a day to meet x goal of "AP". So the majority of your existence in wow is now revolving around this compulsory prep("z"), your other actual prep, and then the raid. With only so many hours in the day this sharply focuses the entire game only 1 thing, raiding(and preparing for it). Before this type of system I loved doing all kinds of things in WoW. Arena takes just as much prep and effort to get good at. Farming or playing the auction house to mass gold is actually an interesting mini-game, and this ties into crafting of course. I even liked just smashing out old raids for transmog or battle pets. Leveling alts or chasing achievements or rare pets is huge part of the game too.

To me, when they introduced these post cap progression systems I had to decide between doing what I liked and doing my chores.
