  1. Boxer here, I leveled a single toon to 60, raid logged for a while, got super burnt out/bored then found out about boxing. I've never played retail and my first experience with wow was classic. It was an awesome challenge to level a 5 man team to 60, tackling dungeons in a whole new way and generally enjoying the content laid out. VS spamming LFG getting turned down constantly while everyone is just getting boosted by mages etc.. Also being able to help my guild in a whole new way was a ton of fun. I've helped a ton a melee farm HOJ, handing out eko's to all the melee for free, and a few got lucky and we got SGC etc.. If this is blizzard's response to stopping bots I'm really not sure how that accomplishes it. I understand the concerns for the retail market but all in all, I think wow tokens were the root of that problem in the first place. Hopefully, this has a positive effect on the economy but only time will tell. From what I understand, bots will reign supreme again. There's still nothing stopping the bot accounts from spawn camping herbs/ore and just doing what they've done before. Banning ISboxer styled software isn't the answer.

  2. I don’t multi box but I don’t have anything against it. Plenty of guys around that do it on my server and it can be fun to fight with them. Also have one in my guild who just loves the game and is one of the best blokes I know. Seeing him try and take out raids when DMF is on is always fun. Likewise, if DMF is in alliance territory and I need to go get it, having multi boxers is part of the mission in trying to get out with buffs. People just QQing over everything like the old men grumpy men that they more than likely mostly are.

  3. i honestly dont really care that much about multiboxing in classic tbh, the only multiboxer i encountered was a group of 4 druids that wanted zg boosts so it it was ez money for me xD

  4. Classic only player here, but I am wondering how affected summoner multiboxers will be, as pretty sure they don't alt tab to each one and instead use a program to just do the same thing on each account…

  5. I started WoW Classic entirely for the first time, Phase 4, im a very competitve player in general and that lead me to get into multiboxxing, I started off with summons everywhere to battle against an actual gold seller on the server who sold summons 7 days a week/15 hours a day for months on end, later got into making 5 mages to multibox, it enabled me to enjoy your game more, about the worst offense i can take is farming lots of E'kos on my multibox but I never broke the economy, I never bought or sold gold, I payed 15$/month for each account, I didnt spend my days just griefing the opposite faction with 5 mages, but I enjoyed the game in every competitive aspect I could take it, like solo'ing dungeons without heals or seeing if i could nuke bosses with certain builds, this really came to be a low blow, I enjoy your games Blizzard, but I came to enjoy it more with the style that I spent months learning, and hundreds of dollars invested to finally master, and frankly I dont know if classics worth finishing now.

  6. I like how blizzard waited until everyone probably bought shadowlands upgrades already though. I was just about to go back to 5 accounts (been dual boxing mostly in classic) but thankfully I procrastinated. I was able to cancel 1 account 3 hours before renewing for another 6 months and just cancelled my other one which was going to renew this weekend. I had not purchased shadowlands for any of them yet(I had beta access and still wasn’t feeling it). I had 11 acts at one point a few years back but I think I’ll just stay unsubbed until we get TBC and come back with 1 or 2 accounts depending on what could still be done.

  7. cant be banned for addons that are located inside your addon folder and are not using any kind of executable. doesnt matter what it does. If Blizzard doesnt want you to use the addon, they will break it.

  8. I still multibox my 11 60's in wow classic. and im not stopping. I didn't invest all this time to level 11 60's no boost gear them up in tier 2 / 2.5 stack all this gold time invest for them to ban all..Multiboxers in classic dont ruin anyones experience and the 10+ mbers in wow classic have for the most part stopped playing awhile ago..This doesn't hurt classic this should hurt retail who are not only multiboxing but using automation in all their toons in wow retail hyperspawn locations basically afk farming…They just banned a twitch retail multiboxer with a ton of druids making obscene amounts of gold like 2 weeks ago now all of a sudden ban all of us in classic?!?!?…classic mbers aren't a problem from anyone they are hardly even around and can't even do battlegrounds cause no follow..

  9. I feel scammed. I signed up for WoW (classic / vanilla), an MMORPG filled with quests, dungeons, raids and social interaction. As a 31 year old disabled girl I really enjoy that, as I can't go outside often. However, I started leveling a bit later than the rest of you in both vanilla and classic. Result: Finding a dungeon group took 5 days, if not longer for Gnomeregan as horde. I would often run out of quests. For a level 28 buying these 100g mage boosts is not really a possibility without – illegally – buying gold, which is what made me decide to get into, the allowed: multiboxing.

PVP as a boxer isn't quite an option. Great fun to see that 40 char streamer kill a whole raid, but it counts as griefing resulting in a ban for the 'not-so-famous'. Besides for that, boxers have no movement, 1 fear and you're dead. With our worst enemy being mages for which I'm 5 easy honorable kills with just the click of a blizzard. In battlegrounds it's not allowed, as there's no option to put on follow.

Only PVE remains. Which was perfect, I helped many with their Ony attunement and being 1/2 of their UBRS group with aha the key (or well ring)! I got nothing but appreciation helping with 'The Calling' quest chain or hinterlands quests. I've helped guilds with MC runs, BWL runs, even AQ40's when they were low on people! Haven't skipped out on any save of AQ20 and ZG pugs I host, which I dualboxing to keep my gear up to standard. I was well on the way of becoming a liked and talented (female) multiboxer. I mean it does ask for a lot of skill, minding 5 characters at once doing different tasks isn't exactly easy. The program you mention ISboxer is indeed what I use, it makes my 5 screens visible and active so if I press '1-2-3-4-5' it does so on all, yet that's really ALL it does.

They claim this is put in against bots, but it doesn't effect them. They are not the ones using 'mirrors keystrokes', they're just running automatic scripts and aren't even close to their computer nor keyboard. It really is those few, what is it, about 5 multiboxers per classic server that are getting the ban hammer.

So, here I am, 6 years of paying Blizz to be able playing on my 5 WoW accounts, with my disability money (yup, not rich), for some social interaction; now getting mass reported and about to get banned. You do the mats of how much money I've been scammed out off… All the people I got to know that I can now say goodbye to and the ironic idea that I was actually gonna achieve something in this game the second time around.

Am I angry? No, I'm in tears. It's sorta like I tell you I'm giving you a full furnished castle to live in, when you arrive however it's empty, you put the furniture in it after years of work. Then I decide "You know what, I'm taking the castle back AND all the furniture you paid for."

  10. I boxed for a year, since I think its fun and can give me an edge, I seen people do it in 15 years, why change it now I feel like? Why not make it so you can box 5? I think this is antifun thats it.

  11. I am a multiboxer with 5 accounts. Use to use hotkeynet. Now I have to use all my fingers to toes to play! Just kidding! I have order 3 more PC and building a keyboard splitter using arduino as HID input to each PC. Back to the original multiboxing (only 1 account per pc with not software control).

  12. If they were aiming to remove botting, they missed the mark on this one. If their goal was to eliminate players behind a keyboard from being able to multi-box, they hit their target.

  13. HOtkey.net is not what they are using. They are using Vanilla Buddy and other "illegal" software to farm for them. Those aren't played by people. It amazes me how many ignorant people in the game don't understand the difference between "bots" and "multiboxing"

Check your auction houses the next time you are in town and look at all the AFK toons sitting there for days/weeks. That is what a bot is using an illegal program scanning, posting, undercutting making gold 24/7. Not multiboxing. Multiboxing isn't ruining the economy, bots are.

  14. The problem is truly not multiboxers themself, its Blizzard who made 2×4 idiocy coupled with hyperspawn possible. I know people who run 16, 40 , 80 , 100+ accounts. They have cycle of commands and macros scripted on 1 key which affectively allow them afk farm while any number of accounts running. Its much better than botting and requiers almost no effort to make. Retail truly had become mobile gaming that requiers minimal effort, and no skill whatsoever to gain ingame goods.

Basically what blizzard did is lazy decision that achieved 2 things, regular users are fooled that their life matters and token/mats will be more accessible. And another is to take a bigger cut from multiboxers who obviously play game to earn $$$, now if they wanna continue bigger "rent" should be payed.

  15. This is so sad, I love wow but can't do raids or sometimes even dungeons as I could accidentally be AFK to care my kids, so multiboxing was a real gem for me to solve it 😒 And I had so many expectations for TBC, but now.. 😢

  16. All multiboxing does is ruin the game for people that aren't doing it. Sorry for all those people that only enjoyed the game because they could multibox, but the game will be better overall for everyone else.

  17. Arlaeus, you gotta check out exehn/exehntv he is hosting a leveling contest. Not many rules you can basically use whatever to level as fast as possible. He's a small creator but the prize pool is 200 so it might be fun stream content

  18. You can probably still multibox up to 5 windows by just manually clicking around, maybe with some windows macros to help with the clicks. A big nerf to be sure, but you can still do it. Also, it changes absolutely 0 for the multi-gatherers of herbs/nodes. You can simply alt tab and manually click 8 times to still harvest 8x the mats. Only takes you 10 seconds more. Won't change a thing in that regard, not sure why everybody thinks it will.
