  1. As someone who plays mage in both PvE and PvE on a respectful level, I agree with everything. I would love to keep comet storm, it was and will be essential in early expansion because of high base damage but low spell coefficient from gear.

  2. This is actually a serious problem for frost right now IMO. Without the ability to kite, you never have an opportunity to cast. With all the gap closers in the game, stuns, kicks, totems, you really don't get much of a chance to do anything but support and be trained. What good are slows if every melee class can basically ignore them? The inability to kite makes mage lame… super over the melee smork fest that is world of warcraft now a days… and yet I still hear people cry about mage mobility or say "you guys have polymorph"… yeah okay have you seen a Spriest? All instant CC (a blanket silence and a stun to boot), doesn't have to cast to apply dots anymore, legit utility gods, and ice block that heals… but keep crying that mages have a nerfed version of shimmer please…

  3. @Venruki – you three really nailed down what fun things are missing. Big thumbs up
    I definitely miss deep. And I miss Frost Bomb. Setting that burst up was so much fun. (As well as alter time being offensive.)
    Mage should be more of a glass cannon. (Not saying no durability, but we're not a "stand and take it" caster like a warlock.) Keep up the good fight: convince blizzard to give us fun and lethal burst 🙂

  4. Really awesome video, I agree with 99% of things said. I'd like to add few things tho:
    1. Deep Freeze on Shimmer row OR regular Blink off GCD.
    2. Baseline Ice Nova, Blast Wave, Blazing Speed, Supernova, Meteor and Ebonbolt to their according specs.
    3. Make Fireball, Frostbolt and Arcane Blast do decent dmg without modifiers.
    4. Nerf modifiers. Currently Arcane Blast gets ~280% dmg buff from Arcane Charges, then another 40% from Rune of Power, 50% from Overpowered, Trinket, procs, soulbind passives, etc.
    5. Make Cone of Cold, Fireblast, Nether Tempest, Living Bomb and Arcane Orb do GOOD damage.
    6. Buff the damage of AOE spells such as Arcane Explosion, Cone of Cold and Frozen Orb, but make their damage get reduced by the numbers of target hit.

  5. Every class having everything has kind of killed the game both in PvP but even more so in PvE. So at this point a simple solution is to give Mages back Deep, but I think it'd be better to prune a lot of the abilities from all sorts of classes instead…but that requires redesigning classes and a change in the game design philosophy (especially PvE M+ dungeons).
