1 thought on “Xbox has ended PlayStation”

  1. Lots of these PS Xbox videos tonight. I play Xbox, PS and PC. I left this on another Youtuber's channel tonight, but I think this is the direction PS is moving, since we know other PS exclusives are coming to PC.

I just subscribed to PS Now after hearing it is now 1080p at 60fps. Sony didn't even mention that they upgraded PS Now. I didn't know until other youtubers started noticing. I mention this, because I think Sony are making moves, but we just don't see it. I'm a fan of both Xbox and PS, so hopefully Sony is doing something so it doesn't slowly die off after the PS5 generation is over.

Sony is shutting down their PS3 and PS Vita. Most of the PS3 games are free once you pay your monthly PS Now subscription which is five bucks a month for a year subscription. I think they want everybody to start using PS Now, so they don't have to hassle with the other store fronts.

Sony just submitted a trophy patent, maybe to add the trophy system to older PS1, PS2, Ps3 and PS Vita games. Sony submitted a PS5 wifi controller patent possibly for cloud gaming, since the PS5 controller uses bluetooth to connect to the console. Sony also invested in cloud gaming service Ubitus with Tencent and Square Enix last week. Ubitus brought the game Control via cloud to the Nintendo Switch. People were amazed at how well it worked and Ubitus even implemented raytracing to the game.

People are starting to speculate they are building up their cloud infrastructure quietly with full backwards compatibility and when they have their business model they want to use, they will tell the public. All speculation, but many coincidences in one month. I'm sure they don't want to get left behind with Xcloud, Luna and other cloud services in the future.

I personally think they hired Jade Raymond's new studio Haven to make a huge cloud game for PS, because she knows the capabilities that the cloud can offer that a console can't from working at Stadia. I agree Sony needs to do things, but they are usually very hush hush about things until they are ready to reveal something big.

They are expanding their studios, so hopefully they can have several projects running at the same time, so they can pump out more (hopefully good) exclusives. Maybe Sony can be like a great baseball team with a great farm (rookie) league, so instead of paying lots of money for the big players (Zenimax), they just train top of the line rookies on how to build great games. They have made award winning games just as much as the Zenimax's game lineup.

If PS isn't doing anything they will not last long after the PS5 generation is over. We will see what happens.
