Microsoft has finalized its $7.5 billion deal to acquire ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Doom and Fallout studio Bethesda Softworks. The finalization comes just a day after Microsoft secured regulatory approval from the EU for the acquisition, and it will now bolster the company’s first-party Xbox games studios up to a total of 23. “This is the next step in building an industry-leading first party studios team, a commitment we have to our Xbox community,” says Microsoft’s gaming chief Phil Spencer. “With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.” In this video Dreamcastguy rants about the business of the Xbox team finally finishing their deal to buy Bethesda and what this means for the future of exclusives games and which stuff will NOT be coming to PS5 PlayStation 5. This deal includes Bethesda sub-studios like Dishonored developer Arkane, Wolfenstein studio MachineGames, Doom maker id Software, and The Evil Within studio Tango Gameworks. Microsoft now has 23 first-party game studios, compared to Sony’s 13 PlayStation Studios.

  1. I think anything that was in development for the PS5 and is in late development now will probably release. Future titles like ES6, FO5, I doubt it unless Sony let's game pass on ps5.

  2. The thing I'm most curious about is to see if this acquisition actually changes some of the nonsense and bad decision-making that has been going on over at Bethesda for the last few years. Are we going to see more quality content like Doom Eternal, or is it going to be more crap like Fallout 76? To be fair, it's probably going to be a combination. I guess we're going to find out soon.

  3. This sounds more like what you hope. It would be terrible business for MS to throw PS a single bone. They buy their exclusives and timed exclusives so be it. I hope Sony keeps playing this game so MS matches and just continues to lock Sony out of content. Get game pass or missout it's simple.

  4. Who does Bethesda think they are ? Their latest offering for their titles are lame at best. To even consider spending 7 Billion on PS games is a major slap in the face to Xbox fans.

  5. It’s appalling how many exclusives PS has compared to XBOX. They messed up With the Xbox one and MS owes their loyal fans. Another terrible move by MS. It was crucial that MS started this generation off right. I thunk PS fans have had it too good for too long.

  6. That's an article from last year. How about putting some effort in your videos 🤷🏻‍♂️. It's really not that hard, there's plenty of information out there readily available.

  7. Old games and games Sony already have a deal with will be on PS, new future games won't. Subscribe to Game Pass If you are on other platform.

  8. Maybe if you put some lenses in the glasses you'd see the date on the article. You literally read the line before and the line after the date of the story, following along with your cursor as you read it aloud, and never noticed. Lol. You "even read this statement twice to absorb it".

  10. Think it's gonna be like it is with other studios were they'll honor all deals then go full exclusive to the ecosystem like they did with obsidian also think games that were far in development will come to other systems as well

  11. Very salty comments about a PS5 fanboy who can’t expect the fact that Xbox is doing all the right things lately, and apart from that there is still the odd “Xbox has no games to play” thrown in for good measure just too keep the other fanboys from crying, I’m pretty sure I’d Sony did this it would be the greatest move in gaming history but once again Xbox takes the backlash, well I don’t know about you but I’m very excited about this and can’t wait to see what my series x can’t do under game pass, it’s the best time to own a Xbox ever now and you can’t see that mr Dreamcast guy then you can always go back to playing your $80 PS5 games in the hope that Sony is telling the truth about them coming out this year Not!

  12. Xbox only made up 20% of last gen console sales. Bethesda's titles have failed repeatedly with every recent release.
Both talk the talk, neither walk the walk. Sony should ditch both and let them rot.

  13. I know this is besides the point of the video but… how are Bethesda the "acclaimed creator of Starfield"… this game is not out yet nor is much known about it. I have the feeling they are going to again start a hypetrain that will ultimately lead to disappointment because the game will suck compared to what people believe they know about it prior to it's launch.

  14. Meh, couldn’t care less. Bethesda is one of the most overrated companies in all of gaming and I consider elder scrolls and fallout to be in the top 5 most overrated franchises in gaming. Doom was great, but didn’t Bethesda just publish it and iD software make it?

  15. hmmm Either I have just watched someone balls up a video reading a 6 month old article or I have just watched someone balls up a video reading a 6 month old article 🤔🤔🤔

  16. Elder Scrolls will be everywhere… They sell everywhere, it's a win for MS, not for only Xboxers though. I'm happy though, I own all. Realising it a year later never works, the hype is gone and most feel betrayed, just like Rise of the Tomb Raider was exclusive for a year or so on Xbox, no one cares after.
