Why "some" Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox? Why not all of them?
I don't mind Ryan McCaffrey – but that 'hot take' on Obsidian annoyed the absolute fuck out of me.
If Microsoft starts interfering with studios like that, that's when you start losing staff and the studios lose their identities.
It's been a breath of freshair to hear about the hands off approach MS are going with their studios – I would hope the big MS guy at IGN wouldn't be the one talking hot trash like that.

Bethesda. I feel most new titles will be exclusive minus previous arrangements. Either way Phil/Microsoft deserves a lot of credit. It is heavily reported that Sony tried to get Starfield exclusive to Sony only, that would have given them 3 Bethesda exclusives timed or not. Phil basically said enough is enough. No more Bethesda exclusives for you, I’ll buy them all…. Phil does not get enough credit.
Who cares if theyre exclusive….. if you have game pass…. you dont have to purchase them… dont give a toss if playstation get em.
HOWEVER…. What would be the point of make minor games exclusive, but the big guns multiplat. So some .. really must be AAA.
Also, if great games are exclusive to a particular ecosystem… then it will almost force the opposition to make quality games in response…. gamers would get the benefit

So here's my take the word "SOME" will cause more continued discussion among the media and the industry than "ALL or MOST". Besides if you want to be nitpicky about it anything other than being on the console in a lot of people's mind would make it not truly an exclusive.
Really been enjoying the show since I've started watching keep up the good work.
There's a voice in my head that says why haven't they just been transparent. Just tell us what the plan is going forward, yeah a lot people might be disappointed but a large amount will also be thrilled.
I just feel there might be a reason behind all the vague press releases. Something that the gaming community isn't considering.
Everyone is talking about Xbox and what this means in terms of games, exclusivity and competing platforms but I don't see many people talking about Zenimax. Afterall Zenimax had private owners, not a public traded company meaning the sale had to be conditional/consentual between buyer and seller. A hostile takeover isn't possible. So what did MSFT bring to the table apart from the obvious, a shit load of money. The owners were already very wealthy and Zenimax was performing well in revenue, it just makes me wonder, makes me interested what have the owners may have stipulated? What was their conditions to agree to the sale were. I don't think we know really and probably never will.
I would be interested to know if the sale was conditional or an agreement is in place between the new and old owners.
Maybe the owners are now stakeholders in MSFT.

As a PlayStation Guy I have an Xbox as well. Loving it. Have not even turned on my PS4. So a PS5 I can wait for since My Series X is my Main Focus Console! Cant wait to see what’s on Gamepass from Bethesda this week! Meanwhile these weekly deals xbox has is driving me nuts. I’m glad though since I never played those games!

Xbox needs to be transparent and be like "when it comes to Bethesda exclusivity, most games will be xbox exclusive. The only ones that will be released on other platforms are either mobile games, live service games (eso or fallout 76) or existing contracts.

Xbox can’t afford to underestimate PS fans. If you give them the option to buy the game for 70 dollars on PS they will. No matter if it’s on gamepass day one and two years later on PS.
Makes sense. Xbox drops the price on the game after a year. And then it go's to Playstation full price.
Or make Playstation add xbox gamepass so they can play with us on the xbox platform
Xbox IS Microsoft's devoted gaming system, not the PC. It makes sense that the Xbox has more games. I don't like it when they push the PC platform. PC PvP games are full of cheaters.

Personally I think anything that their isn't already an exclusive contract for should and will be exclusive.
So Sony will get ghostwire and death loop and that's it because they have timed exclusive deals in place. Otherwise even if bethesdia was working on PS5 port…they aren't now. The only exception would be MMOs and games like 76 and shelter and whatever else the mobile division cooks up.
You don't spend 7.5Billion to make multiplats if thats the case they could have just signed a massive partnership where they got all content first, that would have easily saved themselves a ton of money. Instead they bought them.
And I hate the "well others may not sign up if they feel they will be stuck to one platform" Sony just bought insomniac and Nintendo just bought a studio…when a platform buys a Dev it's understood the content is exclusive…except for Microsoft for some reason.
Why isn't anyone speculating weather insomniac is making exclusives or not? After all insomniac did make Sunset Overdrive which was a Xbox exclusive so why can't their next sunset game be on Xbox? What about the fan base on the Xbox platform? See the logic doesn't hold up.

Colt keeps saying most, but it probably wont be most though. thats probably why they said the BEST place to play new Bethesda games is on xbox. any game with a multiplayer component, including the next DOOM will probably be multiplat, but will be "free" on GamePass but you'll have to drop $70 on PS5. it'll also likely be 6 month to a year timed exclusive on Xbox. Single player only games will probably be fully exclusive, hence the word SOME.
I agree with Colt. (Rare!) Phil doesn't like Timed or Exclusive Content of 3rd party 1st party he is fine with.
