The Xbox Series X features a “CAPTURE & SHARE” function that lets you record gameplay in 720p, 1080p and 4K capture… But is it any good?
How does the Xbox Series X’s Game Capture stack up against a dedicated external HDMI capture Card? Up against my own personal workhorse capture card, The Avermedia GC573 AKA the Live Gamer 4K?

  1. Honestly both look good. Capture card is clearer, but I can’t point out how, it’s just more vibrant some how. If they weren’t side by side it wouldn’t matter. Aka doesn’t matter unless you’re a junkie for pixels,

  2. Really not a major difference – after what YT compression has done to it, I really don't see a major difference on my 47" TV that I'm casting to(or 27" monitor for that matter, ever so slightly sharper). I certainly wouldn't complain if someone was streaming at that quality. I'm there for the content, I'll play the game myself if I really want the eye candy. Image quality above this is just a nice bonus.
Could it be better? These things are made to cost after all. But, does it need to be? Don't think so.

  3. Great video. Thanks for the comparison. Instead of purchasing an external SSD could I use a usb thumb drive to save video captures? What is the typical file size for one 60min 4K capture?
