  1. that's pretty much what I've been saying. The series S is dependent on those features to hit the 1440p/60 target Microsoft set for it. The series X can brute force things to keep pace with the ps5 until developers have access to the full feature set.

  2. This is the difference between a proconsumer company and a anticonsumer company. MS puts XBLive price up gamers complain so MS dont put XBLive price up. Sony charges for a game taking preorders ready for the release of the game then Sony give the same game away on PS+ day and date and refuses refunds lol

  3. Think about gears 5 . How great it looks
    How smooth it runs
Add all these new features that have come out since then
VRS Tier 2 ( they said it can do more if it was natively implemented)
    ML
    MORE TIME !!

Xbox the only brand pushing next gen software. I can’t wait for them to update quick resume and auto 60FPS to Xbox one /360 games

  4. Sony has checkerboarding with no ML involved whatsoever on PS4 Pro. The human eye just couldn't tell the difference between native 4K and checkerboarded 4K….unless you zoom 400%, and no one play games zoomed in. It begs the question, why are we obsessed with native rendering when such a solution exists? After all, you could use that extra grunt of power for something else instead of heavy ML calculations….

  5. Meh series s is already nearly 540p at 30fps without RT. Truly next gen games with tons of RT for AI and Physics etc… series s will run it at below 540p 30fps with upscaling maybe 720p 30fps?

  6. All this tech and the feature/tool sets will be very impressive, but even as a Xbox fan (or at least a fan of Xbox games) all this hardware talk/software features and waiting talk is getting old. I can understand why PlayStation fanboys laugh and joke about “wait for E3” and “wait for the tools”, as that’s all Xbox fans have had to do is wait. The issue here is Xbox fanboys hyped up the Series X as being so much more powerful than the PS5 and these same fanboys are still trying to push that narrative as they don’t want to admit they were wrong about the power narrative.

Don’t get me wrong, the Series X will be more powerful and I think we will see more games have a similar advantage like we saw with Hitman 3, but those games will be small in number. Most cases we may see a slight resolution advantage or better shadows on the Series X. I don’t think developers will start taking advantage of Direct ML until towards the end of this generation.

  7. Once these devs have mastered ML, VRS, Mesh Shaders, SAM & Velocity Architecture, and begin using them all to their full potential in each title, games are gonna look amazing & run at a smooth 60fps. All this tech used together is how they will get ray tracing in next gen titles but still keep the framerate at 60fps. Of course not every title will do so & it will happen gradually. But the most talented devs will be able to accomplish this regularly.

  8. Ok I love my series X and play it daily, but when are they going to start implementing these features? Right now it just seems like we are just getting the minimum effort.
I don't know about you guys but I want more than just 30fps extra. I want the resoulution, ultra settings and ray tracing. A game that looks identical to the one X version but runs at 60fps instead if 30fps is not what I bought next gen for.
