Now that we’re a month into the Xbox Series X run, we’ve gathered reviewers from IGN, GameSpot, and Bloomberg to discuss if the new Microsoft Xbox Series X console is living up to the hype. The hardware certainly shows a lot of promise but a lack of first-party support isn’t doing Series X any favors.

The Review Crew is a weekly show where we gather folks from all over the gaming community to discuss the biggest reviews. In previous episodes, we’ve discussed Sony’s PlayStation 5, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Spider-Man: Morales.

The IGN Xbox Series X review published just over a month ago, and here we discuss our changing thoughts on the Xbox hardware, our thoughts Xbox games, specifically a lack of first party support from Xbox Games Studios, and the outstanding value of Game Pass.

But first! We look at the best and worst parts of the XSX and impart our hand-on impressions of Microsoft’s newest console. We showcase Xbox gameplay and dive deeper into our Xbox review.

The Series X launch was relatively smooth, and we weigh in on Xbox stock and the Xbox pre-order dilemma. And finally, the lightning round where all Xbox questions will be answered! Well, probably not, but the lighting round is still very fun.

We hope you enjoyed our IGN Xbox Series X console review and this Review Crew Xbox episode. Be sure to stick around for more Xbox Series X coverage. And for all your Xbox news, Xbox gameplay videos, Xbox game reviews, and all next-gen console reviews and next-gen console news, stay tuned to IGN.

  1. I finally got an Xbox series x. Bought it, hasn't arrived yet. But this is kinda disheartening to hear. I'm definitely a Playstation fan boy but I've always had both consoles. Hope it gets better over time for the Xbox.

  2. Wow there are a lot of xbox fans in the comments. Don't get me wrong I will definitely buy one instead of the PS5, mainly because of the Obsidian/Bethesda buyout, but not until they actually have a next gen library of games to play.

  3. The bloomberg guy has a really bad take. Like yeah if we all had a 3090 pc than we probably wouldn't turn on the xbox either provided you're friends weren't on there. Seems weird to judge it like that.

  4. Here is the real review 🤣
    3,368,098
The PS5 had the biggest console launch in US history, but the numbers are more impressive than anyone realized. According to VGChartz, the PS5 had the best global launch month sales for any console in gaming history. The PS5 sold 3,368,098 units, while the Xbox Series X/S sold 1,817,303.
ONLY IN XBOX DREAMS WILL THEY BEAT SONY.

  5. They keep ignoring the fact that a lot of people played ps4 this generation and then got an Xbox series X and they now have access to many games they haven’t played before and that is great but they don’t realise this as they probably owned all consoles for the last decade but most people only own one gaming system

  7. Funny how they are trying so hard to find positives haha let's be honest, there's no content that you wouldn't get on xbox one x, with a subpar infrastructure for dev's to work with. May be worth in 2-3 years but definitely not now.

  8. Got PC with 3060ti, XsX and PS5.. mostly use XsX because it's convenient. No updates, no waiting, changing between games is super quick (goes for PS5 too, I know). With Windows there's always a driver, update from Microsoft, update for a game or something else. As much as I love my PC, xbox is a way to go. And once I finish Valhalla, I can play Witcher 3 (on GamePass) before the patch Cyberpunk 2077 (ok, that'll ddef be played on a PC!)

PS5 is great too but only play what's exclusive or performs that much better on it (very few titles)
