  1. Bloober CEO: "Woah, that GamePass makes it way easier to make bank from games right?"

Bloober CFO: "Shit yeah, let's not sell. We can just keep dropping games in GamePass and make low risk dollar!!!"

That's basically exactly what happened hahaha.

  2. I think they are a decent dev. They still have a long way to go in terms of developing some sort of actual gameplay in their games. I’d rather Microsoft buy larian. I think Microsoft should stop at 25 and build those studios up for awhile before acquiring more

  3. Well, it is what it is. Thats the thing folks gotta realize about acquisitions. The other party HAS TO WANT to be bought.

Sounds like they gotten a taste of that "low-risk easy refill ice tea" Game pass brings to their table. And instead of taking the plunge on going all in. Opted to keep themselves open and more flexible.

But, Im fine with it. Its still a waste. So, the best of luck to them. Now hopefully Phil gets off this westerner dev grab kick and really starts showing more efforts in getting a few Asian studios. Which comes to my thoughts on Kojima.

Frankly, was never a fan of his. But respect is given for how long he's made his name last. I think that this most likely is just a partnership for a 2nd party project. That'll be exclusive to XBox/Gamepass. As Kojima is too prideful to take a backseat at the table.

Which is a shame. As I could really see an acquisition being mutually beneficial to BOTH parties. As Kojima who's known to eat through a budget like termites on wood. Would have access to a bigger wallet with very little constraints like with SONY. And access to a massive vault of tech and knowledge for very cutting edge hardware. To really push the "vision" he really wants. With little or no compromises.

While on the other side, XBox gets KOJIMA! A big name over there in Japan. Which can help the brand get a little bit more of a foothold over there. Not just with fans. But with over devs who've always been on the fence in regards to if XBox gamepass is worth the shot.

But in those very regards I still feel that regaining Tonubu Itagaki and Sakaguchi would be just as good.

  4. Medium seems like a PS game to me. Single player, terrible camera… I liked it a bit, but hell I liked Anthem more. I like action…, I can walk around my house & open doors & shi* & watch a movie. Split screen clever but liked the time warp in titan fall 2 much better. That was really creative (TF2 warp) & melded in the gameplay much much better. But for a first ip ok, they should not get cocky for sure.

  5. I'm not really bothered by this. The only thing notable from the bloober team for me is the medium and even then that wouldn't afffect me too much. Also the bloober team have bad management as they are preventing their own growth by preventing investors from coming in. With MS especially i don't see how their culture could change as Phil just leaves them to do their own thingsπŸ‘€

  6. The one company I wish Microsoft had purchased is bioware. I feel like Microsoft blew it by not locking that company down. Mass effect was huge on the Xbox, and is a huge series still. EA damn near killed everything.

  7. They said a majority stake, that doesn't sound like Xbox and not an acquisition. Xbox doesn't buy majority, they buy out all to acquire. My guess is it might have been some one else like Tencent , EA as those are more likely to go with controlling stake. Whatever the case I think Xbox going for publishers now. According to ACG on Defining Duke Podcast , he was told that FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKlZO_hEtxs&t=7377s at the 32 minute down. From the way things are going I would say Microsoft is probably still in talks with AT&T for WB Interactive. Probably the licenses are still the hurdle. Xbox would want full control over the licenses for the games.

  8. Honestly happy Xbox didn't buy them… Blair Witch was trash, and I am even guilty of over hyping The Medium. N yeah Game Pass givin them the bag, is how they paid for their development costs… They are better off brown nosing Phil Spencer n getting their next titles in Game Pass too… Then it really won't matter if Xbox owns them, they will still be getting their games for GP and Bloop can go on doing Bloop

  9. It's not Bloober but WB Studios is the likely one as rumor from last year still continues and I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft would even go $10B surpassing the Bethesda acquisition

  10. Hey I'm good with a partnership as well. They have made several games that are on gamepass and really if they just want to keep doing that and stay their own I'm good.

I would like some more exclusives out of them (or atleast timed exclusives at the worst) they do good work, the medium was amazing and I as a polish American really appreciate the setting of the medium being in Poland, We could use more of that.

Also by the way the medium ended, I think their could be a sequel.

  11. GLAD BLOOBER ISNT BEING BOUGHT, THEIR GAMES ARE SHIT COMPARED TO ALOT OF WHAT CAME BEFORE. THERE PLENTYS OF BETTER STUDIOS TO BUY. LIKE MONLITH STUDIOS TO REBOOT CONDEMNED. LOOK AT THE XBOX GAME REVIEWS IN THE XBOX STORE. MEDIUM GOT A TON OF BAD REVIEWS. IT WASNT EVEN A GAME, ITS A CRAPPY VERSION OF THE OLD TELL TALE GAMES WITH A BORING AS HELL STORY. Like a low budget tv show

  12. Sensible studio!! Locking themselves out of PlayStation (both PS4&PS5) would be the dumbest thing they could possibly do – cough BETHESDA cough -. The Medium still needs to release on PS5 later this year. Come on man! Nice to see GamePass isn't duping everyone…

  13. I think this has something to do with bloober doing a silent hill game. Maybe in the contact, Konami doesn't want exclusivity, so if xbox bought them, then the game would become canned
