  1. I already have an series X but when Best buy had the S in stock last month I got one because that little box looks so cool and my son can play fortnite and minecraft on it (that's all he cares)

  2. I think there is definitely a shift in perception this generation. A lot more people seem to prefer the Xbox Series S/X over the PS5 and for good reason. I myself have a Series X but I can understand the appeal of the Series S. At £249.99/$299.99 it's a great and affordable price point for a lot of people and their families and a great entry point for next gen gaming. Throw in gamepass at £10.99/$14.99 a month with access to over 360 games (and counting), that is a great deal when you compare it to paying £75/$70 for a brand new game upon it's release. Also when you compare the features of the Series S/X to the PS5, the Series S/X has better features all round.

  3. Sony under estimated Microsoft. Xbox one generation was a fluke only because the mistakes made at the beginning of the generation. Phil Spencer is at the helm and he's a gamer too. I doubt Jim Ryan ever picked up a playstation controller and actually played anything.

  4. You can build a 1080p pc for around $500 bucks and that’s just the pc not including the keyboard and mouse so the fact that you can buy a Series S for $300 and get GamePass it’s just a good deal imo.

  5. You know what? There's been a lot of people saying the same thing Zalker is saying. And posting videos about it. That the PS5's true competition is the Series S. Not the X.

  6. Im spending an hour or more deleting old cloud saves so it doesnt keep killing my small space on ps5. the ps5 feels more like a pc with having to maintenance things like this. When its just plug and play on my XSX. they really need to tighten up at sony, xbox is getting their shizit together and people are noticing.

  7. I get ethier one eventually. Just matter of when? Not buying from a scalper. Instore purchase for me. Online is impossible.

So untell the politics crap get seized. I'm willing to wait. My Xbox one s still holding on. 3 to 4 yrs I think I had it. I have 53 games to keep me busy by then.

I do have 8 games that I'm waiting for that i no longer need the disc updates.

  8. The Ps5 struggles to do 4k60 and doesn't on Ps5 first party titles such as Demon Souls and Miles Morales. The Series S is a 1080p 120fps machine. Which is better than a 4k 30fps machine. Maybe it's just me but I can't tell a graphical difference between 1080p 60 and 4k 30

  9. The actual GAMEPLAY remains the same. Technology remains the same.

Series S still has HARDWARE acceleration and components built into the GPU to relieve the GPU or CPU themselves from processing these API. This is highly efficient, and it is confirmed by AMD and Microsoft that Sony does NOT have all of these technologies.

DirectML = 1080P computer power for textures and RT results in better than 4K fidelity. No available tech on PS5.

DirectML went live last week, and is an open source API… It is going to be the Goto next gen Machine Learning and fidelity upscaling API. Sony doesn't even have one, yet…

Initiative Devs stated that it can sample from a 16K texture, and down scale it more accurately to 4K than Native rendering can achieve (looks better), and deconstruct down as low as 1080P (1/4 resolution) and upsample back to 4k… At the equivalent of very high or even ULTRA detail settings…

In other words; at the computational requirements of running 1080P, they could reproduce a BETTER image than rendering at a NATIVE 4K…

And they could go to 800p and reproduce 1440P… Whichever they wish.

This also works for post process effects (fog, after effects particles etc) and also Ray-Trace reflections, shadows… So cut down RT computation by half or 75%… Freeing up MORE resources…

Sampler Feedback Streaming – reduces textures being wasted by up to 70%… Reduces pipeline waste and GPU cycles. Not on PS5.

Mesh Shading Geometry engine – unlike PS5's variation, this is proven to reduces GPU cycle waste for geometry by up to 60%..

Variable Rate Shading – tier 2; proven when running to boost performance from 10-13% at 1080p, 13-20% at 1440P, and up to 30% at 2160P. No proven tech like this on PS5.

When games start using DirectX12 Ultimate, and it's features – which are the primary optimization focus of AMD, Intel, and Nvidia GPUs as well as Xbox Series Consoles… Games will all look and run better on Series S than PS5… Believe it or not.

  10. I've been gaming over 35 yrs, thats a hardcore gamer. Not a person who buys everything that comes out. Hardcore gamers only play what they like, period. I prefer pvp only games, even on my 2 custom built gaming pc's, especially on my 2 xbox series x and xbox one x. That's a hardcore gamer, so yes I truly disagree with that statement. However, the series s is a danger to ps5.

  11. Microsoft is offering too good of value for people to ignore anymore. Now they have the power advantage and the amazing value of gamepass is just amazing what they are doing. Just wish they had some exclusives coming out in the next six months and then it would be a no brainer.

  12. I've said it since Day One.
Series S is going to stun and amaze people.
It's gonna trade blows with PS5 and eventually take the generation through sales and performative.
It's going to match it's big brothers, just at 1080p instead of 2160p
Because most people, even more so with the 'kids' tv', are still on 1080p sweets and they're not going anywhere fast with that.

  13. Also don't forget that the prise point makes it a direct competitor with the Switch as well.
Something that most xbox/ps fanboys forget or ignore, the console that dominates the market for the last 4 years.
