  1. Stealth suites deploy in the normal deployment step, not before the battle begins. They can also be deployed ANYWHERE outside of the enemy deployment zone.

Farsight enclaves stratagems can only be used on farsight enclaves units, (see top paragraph of stratagem page.

Ghostkeels should be able to fire there fusion blasters and burst cannons into combat without suffering a -1 to hit.

Remember that the Skyray gunship has 2 markerlights and velocity tracker equipped

  2. Awesome battle report and great fun armies. The audio was much improved on the main camera, shame the audio was muted when you switched to the overhead, but I'm sure you'll sort out that technical hitch..

I think the Eldar player saying the ghostkeels should have just fallen back (ie. forwards) when they were tagged by the shining spears was so true. You could have used other firepower to wipe out the remaining spears in a turn. Alternatively you could have fallen back with one ghostkeel and left the other to tag the spears in combat so that they were stuck using their poor str3 in combat and not charging something else if you risked falling back with both and the shooting failed to kill them.

Although Tau find it hard to hold objectives, killing your opponent on objectives should be doable. I think adding in some Smart Missile Systems and some deepstiking units would help to kill units hiding behind obscuring terrain. I think deep striking is a huge benefit, as you get to kill something after you see how the battle is going for a turn, a perfect way to kill something like the Yncarne. Some deepstrike or outflanking units also help with secondaries. I think building a list for secondaries is also key. Even if you only hold two objectives turns 2-5 you'll get 40 pts and the opponent can only get a max of 45 for primary, leaving you only 5pts down, so the game will come down to the secondaries. Can your army do 2 secondaries without relying on the enemy failing to do something or you killing something they could hide ? Take some units to get Deploy Scramblers and cheap units to get you Engage on all Fronts, and you'll probably get 20-25 pts from those 2 objectives, leaving one objective to get you 10-15 more points, eg. Bring it Down, Adhor the Witch (killing Yvarne and the Yncarne would be 10pts), Banners etc.

Looking forward to seeing you try out more Tau strateges for 9th edition.

  3. What an interesting presentation style. I think there will be people that tell you how to do it. Personally, I am drawn to your good selves due to your particular style. Lovey armies too. I am watching on and sobbing.
