  1. People need to realize the Developers aren't the Publishers.
For instance, the people that made CP2077 aren't at fault for the state of the game, they wanted to finish it before release. But their bosses decided otherwise, and here we are.

  2. The biggest one is that bug fixing or making character models is easy. It’s really not. (I’m not a game dev, but I’m an aspiring one. The amount of “just fix this” or “why is this bug in this game” or “why can’t the black widow skin that has a full 3D model, look exactly like the edits made in photoshop”. That last one is pretty big in the marvels avengers playerbase.

  3. This video is about the misconceptions of game development and it's inner workings. This video isn't saying "the CEOs aren't making 100 billion a year while working their employees to the bone while lying to them about their job security; the media is lying to you about those issues" this is just about the experience of the average video game worker from an insider's perspective.

  4. 1. Not buying from Epic is not an indictment on developers who take Epic's deal, its a refusal to support an inferior platform. You do not get to determine how we spend our money, or what we consider good consumer practices.
    2. Yes, game development is hard and stressful and requires many hundreds of work hours. Just like every other job, in every field, in most all positions. We don't set developer's work hours, or their deadlines. Take it up with your boss.

  5. 4:05 That was an incredibly asinine and reductive comment. In the middle of talking about how developers sometimes need the money from exclusivity deals, you assume that everyone else has infinite money. Not everyone can afford to buy every console in existence.

  6. To put simply about the biggest thing with devs/publishers people tend to misunderstand, devs are the ones who want to finish games and publishers are the ones who demand the game comes out on a specific date unfinished or not.
