18-1 Samuel 28-29: Saul & the Medium, David & the Enemy

We’ve seen David rise to higher degrees of character in spite of temptation to be less. We’ve also seen Saul sink lower into suspicion, paranoia, and outright sin.
The final chapters of 1 Samuel are much different than the first. Before there was a gifted baby to whom God spoke as a young man; now we have a forsaken king to whom God refuses to speak.
But we also have the promise of a better leader who will be the man Israel needs. But David still has some testing to go through and it’s in the midst of the enemy. And Saul has a new low to which to sink.
