Like most Steam users, we’ve been getting stuck into #Valheim on PC this week. It’s a very fun game, but its huge open world can make it feel a little intimidating at first, so, Aoife Wilson and Ian Higton have put together a beginner’s guide to help you get the hang of crafting, building, fighting, repairing, eating, viking – yes it’s a word – and so much more. Odin be praised! Valheim PC gameplay #eurogamer

Oh am I quick
Step 1: Make a bed!
Step 2: GO TO BED!
I would love to see them add Fallout 4 style settlers that you could assign to tasks, jobs and defense in your camps. It doesn't have to be a huge number, but it would make it feel less lonely and more alive for us solo players.
There is a Ping function on the map that is default keyed to Mouse 3 (the scroll wheel). It allows you to put a temporary marker on the map that players can see both on the map and on their HUD.
And tip number 20: Stop setting yourself on fire, Aoife.
This is my favourite game in a long time
A spear has an alternate fire to throw it. Works just as well as a bow for deer and no arrows wasted
Zoe saying "he's got a bum" to the troll at 12:24 made me giggle.
So is it like Rust where you run into other players on the server or can you go at it solo?
An addition to the food tip. Roast Neck tail counts as different food type than roast meat, so they'll stack as meal. So far early game, neck, meat, and mushroom give the largest health boost.
Quality advice; relevant gameplay; good script; clear VO; organized; clear audio mixing. Thank you Aoife and team for the effortful presentation.
I like watching you guys play the game. It is so much fun watching you guys try to survive. It's the closest to rlcraft you guys have gotten.
Ark survival vibes.
Valheim. Not Midgard.
give it a week before it dies. unless twitch keeps boosting it with front pagers and paid variety streamer.
In real life, you can choose which direction a tree falls by chopping a chunk out of the tree and then chopping from the opposite side.
This makes the tree fall in the direction of the first cut. If falling trees can kill you, the game should make it possible to control the way it falls.
"iT'S LikE MiNeCraFt WiTh ViKiNgS" – You lost me right there. This game is nothing like mineman. Get real.
what
craft a hoa lol
I like Viking Carpenter.
How is this like Minecraft? Surly its better and more accurate to compare it to Ark
It's not Midgard, it's Valheim.
As for early game deer, sneak attack them.
As for sharing map locations, you can ping the map with middle mouse button.
Also control click to move whole stacks between containers, or to drop thing. You will always drop the way your character is facing, not the camera.
Great vid thanks!
“Right?” 👁👄👁🔪🩸
thx very must was great info
9:28 ? that is the purpose of portals and making numerous settlements. You must've not played much at all.
