I'm surprised you don't mention any of the games from the Tekken franchise. It was all the buzz when I grew up
I have been a player since 2001, have gotten my first computer then but I remember 90s a little and I saw these machines. These arcade machines with their 2d fighting games and first 3d shooters were games with which I assiociated gaming in general as a kid.
You are so right about playing in the arcades! Over here, arcade parlours were >16 only so it brings back lots of memories of unsavoury characters, cigarettes and people breathing down your neck watching you play. My fondest memory in an arcade was watching a guy play and finish mortal combat with his feet! (he didn't have any arms)
