Hollow Knight is incredible, and in my opinion, it is a masterpiece. I fell in love with it the first time I played it, and when I made my Where is Hollow Knight Silksong video, I promised I’d make a video about Hollow Knight.
This isn’t so much of a Hollow Knight Critique, but rather highlighting the factors that I think make it a masterpiece.
This video was made out of love for the amazing experience that is Hollow Knight. I hope you enjoy it, and if you agree or not with my opinion, let me know.
The video will look at three sections:
0:00 – Intro
1:24 – Nostalgia
8:52 – Purity
14:19 – Passion

Hollow Knight usurped Portal and New Vegas for me as my favorite game of all time. My first playthrough of Hollow Knight was the most fun, immersive, and engrossing experience I’ve ever had playing video games. I took my time and spent around 50 hours beating it and exploring every inch of the map and side content before spending another 40 hours completing Godhome
Hollow Knight opened my eyes and heart to indie games and really made me realize how little money has to do with game development, it's the passion that matters. The modern version of "strength is meaningless without skill".
Ah yes. The greatest indie game out right now
Hey, I came here after watching your desperados 3 video.
There are only a few people who play those kind of games. If possible, can you make a series on Desperados Wanted Dead Or Alive?
I would love watching someone play the whole game 🙂
Super Metroid was my favorite game for 24 years until Hollow Knight came along and dethroned it with ease. My god, what a masterpiece. Everytime you think you've discovered it all, a new area or secret is hiding around the corner. And the lore being out there for you to discover instead of being spoonfed to you just makes it more exciting.
