  1. "It has some minor influence compared to other regions."

You're right in a couple ways though a little context might be worth notice. If you'd rather skip the diatribe on it though, I'll just say thanks and leave a comment for the algorithm.

    Potential spoilers below.

Shurima's lore in the public eye didn't come up much until Riot decided to do some expansion of Runeterra's lore as part of the Ascension event in 2014 when they released Azir. Before that, Sivir was some random mercenary, Nasus was some kind of archivist sure, and I'm not even sure what Renekton's deal was prior to that.

What that means is that Shurima had less groundwork made for it compared to Demacia and Noxus (which were pretty much there out of the gates) or Ionia (which got its first major piece of (presumably now ret-conned or altered) lore in a January 2011 event. When the game was first released, the lore was mainly a patchwork to present the League of Legends as an In-Fiction arena for matches between the respective factions of the setting, and Shurima wasn't even in the background.

That said, there's bits and pieces that tie Into other regions; you didn't recognize Icathia here, but there's a bit of it that's tied to the Watchers in the Freljord, which might also be pointed to as part of Arcane's development and story too once you're aware of it.
