Baldur's Gate 3 – Let's Play Part 4: Explore the Ruins

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 begins the start of a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power..
Though each of you differ in innumerable ways, one thing binds you all together: a parasite planted in your brains. With it comes mysterious abilities, but also the looming threat of gruesome transformation into a Mind Flayer. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is an expansive, cinematic, player-driven RPG based on 5e D&D. It features a rich character creation system where players can create an avatar based on many different D&D races, select their cantrips, skills & abilities, and enter a world where their actions truly define the story.

Baldur’s Gate 3 expands on Larian’s award-winning narrative gameplay both through the advent of cinematic storytelling, and with dice-rolls for key decisions throughout the game, in and out of combat. Dialogue options often have multiple responses, and some responses may require a dice roll to succeed, defined by both luck as well as the attributes of the player character, or circumstances of the situation.

No one play-through will be like another player’s, with a massively branching narrative and meaningful reactions to player actions, and happenings. It features a fluid, high-stakes turn-based combat system incorporating the rules of 5e D&D.

  1. Ok Im seeing that same graphical hiccup at 7:25 whenever I get a crit hit death to. Good to know its not just me. Im a little further along than you are in this video and so far it seems pretty stable but with a few of these graphical hiccups. Its early access so Im sure we are bound to run into a whole lot of that kind of stuff. Thats what early access is for.

  3. I wonder how the mission system works. Does the mission guide you by providing a hint on the minimap or you have to figure it out like in divinity original sins 2

  4. Your game volumes is so low, you can't hardly hear the game from your microphone. Also, I hope Larians artists do a bit more to distinguish races. Humans and elves look similar, and why is the tiefling so tall? Does this game feel like D and D or rooted to Divinity?

  5. You got to hide your rouge man. They aren't meant for balls to the wall combat. Hide, strike hide repeat. plus sneak attacks do extra also you got scrolls leaking out your pockets use some.

  6. You'll probably figure this out before you read this but in d&d when a character is downed any healing gets them back up so you could use that healing word spell to get your team mate back up then use an action to smack an enemy rather than using your action to get them back up and lose your turn.

  7. Hey Cowboy, don’t know if you know since I’m behind in the series, but you can pick up downed characters by targeting them with a healing spell, so bonus action for healing word, and then you still got your action left. Certified DM for 5e here lol

  8. i have player every class, the warlock is best, his eldritch blast hits more often than arrows. with the "fiend" subclass you get a nifty effect, make a kill get 4itpoints on top of your real points. gotta wait til level 3 to get a familiar better than ranger and wizzy. psedodragom is one of them.
