  2. There's good reason why after BfA launch and the whole DIablo Immortal thing "Wow Refugees" became a thing, most notibly towards ff14. I myself throught 2019 was researching the game, watching it, saw the cinematics, looked at systems, peoples reaction, the housing system, trying to do my research right. And consistently you'd hear a few things like: Passionate Developers, good class balance, amazing CONSISTENT story. They werent perfect, they made mistakes but the square enix devs listen to their players. They have great leadership under Naoki Yoshida, or Yoshi P who knows how to organize well, he played MMOs like WoW and others and has the experience of a player to put into making a better MMO.

Ion, Is an Everquest player. A game that's 20 years old, he's a relic of the old age now. Leadership is needed for the Wow dev team, or else players from WoW will get tired and make the next big WoW killer, just like WoW was the "Everquest killer" so to speak, and the cycle will continue. By the by, ff14 has a lower budget than WoW and it still succeds which is baffling. You need good leadership to take a few shitty bricks, destroyed walls, half torn roof and make it look like a 5* hotel.

I even started playing final fantasy 15 during early 2019 to try out a 'final fantasy' game, and while It had many flaws, story as well It was a good enough game. I got the idea of final fantasy I thought, and in February 2020 perfectly so as the lockdowns were coming I've been playing ff14 ever since. As Im writing this Im crafting ingame in ff14. I'm confident the WoW dev team ARE passionate and good developers but I simply cannot say the same about It's leadership at this point.

Also, I have a mad hat theory here as to why WoW has been hugely diablofied even more: We all remember since WoD rumors abound that Diablo 3 devs, half of them went off to the WoW dev team. Which to me is the most obivous DIablofication influence, because exactly since the end of WoD and up until now we've been seeing Diablo esk systems and nobody told the Diablo devs that World of Warcraft does not equal Diablo.

Even worse, this is my wild theory; I believe most of the original wow devs that were wow devs are now on classic and most of the Diablo devs that came to WoW from Diablo are now WoW devs. And now they're in an echo chamber of "Yeah this is a good idea" and no actual WOW devs are there to tell them "But wait this is an MMORPG.. this is warcraft this doesn't belong here…" and ontop of that, to me classic seemed like the perfect sollution to Blizz higher ups to the fact that retail WoW will suck and It gives them time to fix up the game, which I doubt they will because look at Shadowlands it's horrificly bad. I'm sure TBC classic will be a thing, wrath Is arguable but likely in my eyes, but what then? We'll have the expansion after shadowlands launching if not halfway through it by then. To me all I'm seeing is delaying tactics while there's no real solutions being made by anyone at Blizz. They can't possibly think that the last 3 expansions WoW had were good. If they didn't think that, they wouldn't have released the original version of the game, classic to the playerbase which was an unfinished product that got finished in TBC and polished up in Wrath and put upside down on It's head in Cataclysm onward for no good reason.

Also hot take: Legion wasn't that good either, It started the whole borrowed power shite, mythic +, titanforging, legendaries, artifact weapon traits, bad story and the most lore retcons we've seen yet, world quests, emissaries… nothing good came out of Legion other than MAYBE Karazhan being a dungeon and the artifact appearances and even the last one is arguable.

  3. I think Shadowlands will be average.
What I'm hoping is it lays down the framework for the next expansion without borrowed power. I think they hear the message but they were slow to listen and that is gonna come at the cost of shadowlands. Getting rid of Sylvanas is something SL will do and is needed for the game to turn a new page.
My hope lies with the next expansion in which they can spend resources adding rather than balancing/re-inventing. New class… maybe even housing if we're lucky.

  4. As a SL beta tester I’m worried, when I leveled last which was a week or so ago, there was still so many bugs and then there’s the fact of all the new systems and such… they know people don’t want they crap yet they just keep adding things.

  5. Blizz,.. if you read these comments,… get rid of flight restrictions,… on all expansions. Nobody liked the pathways grinds,… and frankly I have earned, payed with hard won gold, and up until Legion,… I had to invest an extraordinary amount of time and effort grinding rep I never used,…to finally get flight,… which ONLY comes at the END of any expansion!?!? Why is this? Exploration is a key part of the experience,… and flight is what makes that possible. Without the ability to fly you miss the grand design of the landscape,… and getting flight at the end of an expansion is just plain useless, especially if you have to grind rep for it…. I know the argument against flight is that we will skip quests and PVP,… we do that anyways. Every expansion there are players who literally level to the max in a week or less! How much do they skip?? Give us flight and I'll purchase Shadowlands,… I promise…. I have been playing since 2005 (before BC),… but I will NOT grind for flight in BFA,… never! And BFA will be the last expansion for me… Classic was the the smart move,… but soon that will be over too!

  6. This is personal opinion, how to save it:
1)find ways to make people talk and cooperate with each other
2)give people more class flexibility, make the class feel better. Reforging was soooo helpful.
3)MAKE IT MEMORABLE. Get a good protagonist. Sylvanas isn't good material.
4)give specific areas characteristics. Bfa and wood feel like they were the same, legion kinda too.
5)go crazy. Add stupid funny stuff.
    6) don't be money Hungry.(this will never happen). It ruins everything.
