Respawn recently held a Dev Response Thread on Reddit and opened the floor to questions on pricing and how they charge for new skins and bundles to the games and a user asked if they plan on ever lowering the price of other skins and cosmetics. Respawn actually answered this question and although their response was quite long it was an answer. We look at in this video the future of the skins and shops and how Respawn will be taking a look to increase or decrease the price in the shop for the future.

What are your thoughts on Respawns stance on skins and how the revenue has been spent?
Never mind the skins, let's talk about the heirlooms for a second. There are people who are level 500 who have only opened 200 packs and there's a 1 in 500 chance of you getting one. Meaning if they were to purchase the remaining 300 packs to guarantee an heirloom, the heirloom is effectively worth hundreds of dollars. Respawn and EA know what they're doing.
Here's the thing right – my perspective is that I don't mind forking out a $20 on this game perhaps every 6 months. I'm not working and just finished college, and when the game came out I was in college. Now I've only ever bought the battle pass and then used those coins from there to buy the next passes.
My thing is I've only ever spent that $10 or whatever on this game, whereas I would've spent more over time. The only reason I haven't is the ridiculously low yield for that price. I will pay $20 if there's a decent bit I can do with it, NOT if it's just one skin.
So Respawn has lost the extra income from me. But I'm not too clued up about how the business would practically work. Not sure if the higher price makes them more money with lower quantity or if the quantity is hardly affected. Just a talking point from my own perspective though

I don’t like the pricing for any of it but apex is cheap compared to games like Minecraft and Roblox which make way more money than apex. At least the skins I’m paying for in apex look like someone put time into.
This collection event was not worth 160 bucks the skins were terrible. They should really make skins that are worth said value. The most I would have paid for all of this would be 100 or maybe 90 for this event

I remember I spent $60 just to get one octane skin because it was in a bundle. It was for the Clocktane skin. I get what they were doing and trying to get people to spend more money, but if they have to get people to spend more money than they want to buy just to get one skin just felt like they were robbing me. All I wanted was the skin. They had separate bundles for the different skins that were in the same bundle that I had to buy. It was when the Grand Soiree bundle sale. It was ridiculous. Sorry for the rant.

Im done spending any money on this game. This seasons battle pass was terrible. First one i dont get and complete. Ive had every other battle pass.
Im actually on the verge of quitting completely. Its been 2 years and every update breaks the game. If servers remain an issue im almost at the fuck it point.
Right now im playing valo because of the servers and its seriously not fun because of the servers

Honestly I think if you purchased the battle pass (season pass) you should get a 15 to 20% discount off all purchases made within the season. Especially collection events. There also should be rewards given or free apex packs after spending a certain amount of money or collecting a certain amount of content. Lastly in regards to battlepass challenges. There needs to be rewards given to those completionists out there who grind 100% of the weekly challenges. Im a level 500 player so literally once my BP hits 110, theres no other reason for me to continue playing the season. The extra challenges just sit incomplete as they are useless. My solution is that each completed challenge after max level should be worth 5 to 10 crafting metals or 10 apex coins (which might be pushing it)

Easy to forget that this is a free game but it never feels good dropping $20 on a cosmetic item. . The skins are nothing but cosmetic. They don't improve or change your ability to play the game at all. That being said, the reality of Respawn lining the pockets of their execs and shareholder instead of continuing to invest in the product so that we can continue to have a high level experience is depressing and makes me not wanna play so much.

all i know is if they dropped the prices down a bit I would have spent waaaaay more money … I CANNOT physically pull my card out of my wallet wiout becoming ill because Everytime I try I think …they are asking for $40 in apex coins to buy pretty much one high tier skin (and have a few coins left over) you know how many full 60+ hour games I can buy for $40 bucks?! vs ONE APEX SKIN!?…and one that I can only see my character's hands 99.9% of the time anyway…. I just cannot bring myself to do it knowing i'm paying for a cosmetic RECOLOR vs someone building and designing and releasing an entire whole ass video game like darkest dungeon, FTL, Slay the spire, Amoung us, Stardew valley I could pick up a few RPG games on sale

Ea falling into the activision hole. We dont care about our players, just our money. Deal with crashing servers, leave match penalties because of servers, and all the bugs we wont fix buuut keep paying stupid high prices for skins. Because you know… we only made over 1b but we really need over 2b to umm fix things not related to the game.
I think they should have each skin for like 10$ they will loose a small amount but it would be covered by the more business that comes in bc most people will go ahead and get 2 or 3 etc

I earn plenty of cool cosmetics without dumping a lot of money into it. I’ve bought the battle pass once and it has paid for itself ever since, now I wish I did that a lot sooner. I think they should make Heirlooms more accessible. Feels nearly impossible if you’re not dropping $$$
