Can You Beat Skyrim Without Attacking Anything?

Skyrim is a game that’s all about helping people. Retrieve a stolen golden claw, find a family heirloom, there’s an endless number of menial tasks to complete. Though sometimes what someone wants is so extreme that the best course of action is to just kill them to avoid any inconvenience. But what if you couldn’t kill anyone? Can You Beat Skyrim Without Attacking Anything? (in text form)

The first thing I did to start this playthrough was start Skyrim if you can believe that, let the introduction play, ride into Skyrim on a wooden sled with wheels while I was off killing time by folding laundry. But Bootcamp sure does love to be a son of a and with me at all times. First it was not even letting me play Black Ops Cold War because the graphics processor was integrated into the mouse or some such nonsense, I don’t know computer that’s why I buy Mac. I ultimately chose a High Elf as my race for, uh, no particular reason really.

That was the first lie I’ve ever told in my life. I chose an Atmer named Long Al, that’s a callback to a big brain moment I had a few days ago, as my character because I had me a plan. And an almost decent one at that. They start with a 25 in Illusion and 20’s in Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, and Enchanting. If you’re wearing your thinking helmet right now, you might be able to see why I went with this race.

As I went to the block, I kept my eyes on a horse, I knew he wouldn’t let me down. After a brief glance away, my boy gone and grew up, Alduin arrived, and my big beautiful horse was nowhere to be found. Getting into the first Skyrim temple safehouse took no effort, I was set free of my chains and shackles or strings if you wanna be technical about it. It was here I implemented the first stage of my plan. But first, we must ask ourselves what an “attack” really is. Usually, in say Fallout 3 for example, an attack is pretty much doing anything to any other character besides talking to them, because Fallout 3 doesn’t have any weapons that I can think of that legitimately do 0 damage. Skyrim has those though, and there’s a way to prove it. Fury is a Novice Illusion spell that offers creatures and people up to level 6 a glimpse into the Bucket Dimension, something no mortal can handle, causing them to erupt in a blind rage and attack anything around them for 30 seconds.

  1. Jesus dude, I didn't learn long division until 5th grade. If you're teaching average kids that shit in 2nd grade, you're just a sadist.

Edit: I would love to see a run through Skyrim where basically every single aggressive encounter you have has to be done by sneaking up on your enemies, pickpocketing poisons or other objects onto them to cause them to attack others or die, and not being able to pruposely aggro or attack anyone unless forced to by the game. It isn't a fully fleshed-out scheme obviously as I'm not sure what you'd do for boss fights if you can't pickpocket them or whatever. I haven't played Skytin in white a while so the specifics slip my mind. I just think it'd be interesting and possibly hilarious to see you constantly having to sneak up to every single enemy and pickpocket shit into their clothes to get rid of them somehow. Animals would also need to be figured out with how to dispose of them for the challenge.

  2. First thought, are we talking attacking as in taking the initiative to attack, or Attack as in retaliating to something attacking you? And if its the second, does having your follower attack for you count?

  3. i think paul should do a video where he just like, plays skyrim. with whatever mods he wants, whatever he wants to do. "can you beat skyrim while just relaxing and having a good time like the game was intended?" make it happen paul. you deserve it.

  4. You should have chosen an imperial.

Their “Voice of the Emperor” perk lets them calm down human(oid) opponents for a short time. Would have made getting through certaint areas full of human/ore/elven enemies much easier.

  5. So I bought Skyrim SE and for some reason the mouse is incredibly sensitive in menus. I've tried going into the files and making adjustments in the .ini file but nothing works. All the guides I've seen are months old and many of the files are different to those in the guides. Anyone any ideas?

  6. I just had a crazy idea for you. Instead of beating the main mission for these videos, you could vary the gameplay so you can reuse previous challenges by doing different things. The one that came to mind with the inspiration for this change was this: can you get all the dragonp priest masks without taking damage.

  7. I play the game also , and love watching other people play it too. It is one of my favorite games, and I was also a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series for I have played Morrowind when it first came out and Oblivion, and tell you the truth I miss playing oblivion might go back to my video game system xbox one and replay that game again. But either way love your challenge and at least you tried to see what happens, you never know what you might find out in a lot of challenges. Keep up the great work loved it.

  8. can you beat skyrim with only companions doing all the fighting? i guess technically not, but how far can one actually get with only companions dealing the damage and fighting? that could be interesting. or i guess it would be like a mashup of this and maybe the restoration only run. and i guess console commands? i dont know about any of that stuff though.

  9. I'm about to annoy some people here so don't take this comment seriously. Technically, he didn't complete the challenge because he attacked the webs in bleak falls barrow. The title says, "Without attacking ANYTHING." While the web isn't alive, it is still a thing and by punching it, he attacked something.
