From Cohh, “I’d also like to make sure folks know that, although I didn’t do any sponsored streaming for this game, CDPR did include me as a cameo (Garry the Prophet) and did send me some collectors items. This did not influence my opinion or words in any way but I feel you should know!”

  1. You advertised the game for many months and repeatedly praised the studio, and you're telling me having your own character did not influence your opinion…? What a load of nonsense. During DF you said if you focus on the great parts of the game then it's a great game…take that mentality to other games and every game is going to seem great. It's pretty obvious you're going soft on them. Any flaw in the game is basically being excused with "It's not fully developed yet" "it's the shareholders fault". Also fixing this mess will not turn them back into an amazing studio, they have made tons of money off this game already, of course they will fix the game, you know it, I know it, everyone knows that, redemption PR is coming in hot eventually and you're ready to retweet and praise it, but the damage is already done and they knew exactly what they were releasing, they deserve much more criticism than you are willing to give them.

  2. I'm old enough to remember the first multi floppy games and yes Deus Ex is a game I will never forget. It was so groundbreaking at the time. I love the solid stories in 2077 just a shame it feels so unfinished.

60 hours in and still hoping for a complete experience in the near future as I want to put in so much more time.

    p.s. I gave Garry a big fat donation, he's great :p

  3. I've played a few cdpr games (Witcher 2 and 3) and thoroughly enjoyed them that being said, the gameplay of cyberpunk is by far my favorite of any of their games (and honestly might be my favorite rpg I've ever touched) it's such a shame they were forced to release the game in the state it is in, because I find that this game is a true diamond of the genre, but boy is it in a really, really rough state. If this could've released late next year I think we could be talking about cdpr's masterpiece above the rest

  4. cohh's point @ around 4:00 i disagree with.. i dont think that cdpr was to ambitious at all.. they were ambitious enough they just kept delaying release dates… if they didnt keep saying its coming next month x4 they wouldnt have had to rush so much… what ever i still fkin loved the game and am currently on my second playthrough… big up cdpr well done…

  5. want to release before the holidays, in time for the new console generation, then tight on money because of what's happening in the world, higher ups wants money asap, it hit them like a freight train in a short period

  6. I definitely side with the devs but I'm also open minded to the point of considering that the suits might end up being right in this situation. And I'm only considering it because we don't know the full story.

If you own or put your money in a company you probably know the projection for how long a project will take. I honestly don't know if the people actually working on the game blew the deadline quite a few times or not. I don't think some "corpo" would for no reason enter the dev room and tell people to wrap it up because their time is over. The suits always have more suits above them and they probably bought the devs as much time as they could. If it was just a matter of not disappointing people they could just have said that because of Covid they wouldn't be able to release the game this year. I'm sure it has money involved. Maybe this is a matter of CDPR tarnishing their reputation or ceasing to exist altogether. It's obvious that they shouldn't lie about an unfinished product but if they asked nicely do you think people would've bought game 7 years in the making on Beta? To make a cool reference, maybe they just chose the lesser evil.

I consider this possibility mostly because of the Doom Eternal-Mick Gordon situation. People were too quick on bashing Bethesda but when the full story came out it definitely looked like Mick simply could not deliver the OST on time. At the very least no one should be blamed, especially not Id and Bethesda, after all they had to do part of Mick's job themselves with a much shorter deadline.

  7. All that being said, after spending 80+ hours in the game so far it killed my desire to play other games. I think part of the reason is the realization that despite its shortcomings, it's going to be a long, long while before a game has an impact on me like this one did. The atmosphere and story are going to be very difficult to match let alone surpass.

  8. The game has a lot of bugs and the AI may be shit. But underneath all that the story was really good and touching, and who knew that the devs could make us want to do more side missions instead of the main story, also the weapons, and the city are awesome just like he said.

  9. cohh is like the flat earther of gaming, just doesn't accept the facts and evidence against this game. there is nobody to blame but the devs themselves. stop shifting the blame, and being in denial.
you cannot patch in life paths actually having content
you cannot patch the god awful itemization
this game needs a complete top to bottom rework, this is just a tech demo for the mutliplayer because they will be doing GTA online type stuff in the future

  10. So its like fallout 76.. Release unfinished products is the go to business plan since a long time and it does work. So many people preorder shit like this that it will continue for a long time, mby we need gov and law to save us from ourselfs…

  11. This is coming from someone has a yet to play the game. But no excuse can be made for either publisher or developer when you read Wikipedia for info on time and dates. It's stated that Cyberpunk 2077 started development after Blood and Wine released. That was May 31, 2016. That's pretty much 4 and a half years spent in development. That's an average development cycle for some great games just about. The game was so badly developed that Reeves had to request Silverhand have MORE screen time. The article can state he "loved" the game so much. But what if he didn't have barely any screen time at all that he felt he needed to ask? The game was too overhyped for what it is for a 100 hour game. No one can tell anyone that development takes that long for a game to release without basic bugs being fixed or being ported to consoles properly when they even said they were "optimizing from the beginning" for this generation of consoles and PC.

The game was announced too early. Development began too late. And the in between is where things get really weird, especially since the studio hired outside help for other things as stated. With console reviews and testing before release seemingly barred from being done. You can pretty much guess how bad they want sales to be up with that decision. They all knew how bad the game was, hence blocking console reviews and such. Yes, the gameplay and mechanics can be good, but when bugs are so common in a game that Sony and Microsoft offer full refunds? That tells a lot when they rarely ever do that. "After purchasing this type of content through PlayStation Store, you have 14 days from purchase to request a refund. If you have started to download or stream the purchased content you will not be eligible for a refund unless the content is faulty." This is the statement on standard PlayStation refunds. Remember, you pretty cannot "unwrap" the game to refund it. I've never heard anyone talk about how buggy a game is ever as much as this game among friends and over the internet. Sure, No Man's Sky and Fallout 76 can come to mind. But those games actually have excusable bugs or just felt incomplete due to content. But when you can punch in the middle of the sidewalk and turn around to see civilians just vanish? That's like…a basic thing…how does that even go through testing?

  12. Would buy again on PC. Put 80 hours into it and had a great time. After some polishing, I think it could be a masterpiece. Looking forward to updates and my second playthrough. Great review, Cohh!

  13. The only thing that seriously bothered me is how this game is not an RPG at all. It's just like Witcher 3 where it only has RPG elements. Almost all of your choices don't matter and you do most of them right at the ending.

I heard stuff about Keanu Reeves getting involved mid 2019 so they had to rewrite half or even more of the story. They used "The pickup" mission as a demo in 2018 and explained how your choices will affect Night City and other shit around you. I am absolutely baffled that he didn't specifically mentioned this as I would have NEVER bought the game if I knew that beforehand.

Now, I am still somewhat with Cohh though. Some parts of the game are absolutely phenomenal. I still can't get over some of the strong characters and insanely well done voice acting and side-quests. And on the other hand, I feel stupidly lied to. And so do many others. The question is.. will CPDR actually change that? Or will they just leave us with bug fixes and a few meaningless free DLC and then paid DLC?

  14. Thank you, fortunately I am always terrified by the thought of buying games at launch and games of this scope. Thank you for being honest and balanced, hopefully the game will come as great as it intended.

  15. Great Respect Cohh! Fully agree with You! This game has a good structure but are not finished by any means, Its a great shame that a company like CD Projekt RED follow the footsteps of Beteshda! I just hope they do the right thing and develop and finish the issues and what is currently underdeveloped in the game. Please CD Project Red don´t let us down! They need to fix the bugs, glitches, the cosmetic choices(You need to be able to colour your outfits and hair, ), include tatoos, the gamebalance, car driving and trafic, gps, and a minimap you should be able to zoom in/out, finish the bountyhunter side quests, more romance choices, make the npc answers more livid and fun)As it is now its like talking to a braindead), AI fighting need a good improvment(Its very lacking at moment), The crafting system need balance and a good overhaul. And the legendary items just laying all over the place and just to grab its just plain stupid (At least make them rewards in sidequests), Give all the gear the same mods to get away with the save/loot issue (legend 3, rare, 2, uncommon 1 for example) This just the things that come to mind right now, there is lot more to be sure. I suggest you wait buying the game untill they fix this issues!

  16. I'm still shocked that this game ended up not being an actual GOTY contender. No, I'm not referring to any cutoff dates (which only media outlets are doing). I'm referring to the game itself and the state it's in (just compare it to every other game that is mentioned in the GOTY race). Imagine telling people even 2 weeks ago that Cyberpunk would be unworthy of being a GOTY candidate. People would have laughed at you. Anyway, this game and its devs are victims of an incompetent management. Let's hope that this game can be saved, since its story and setting are great. Nice review, Cohh. Finally a streamer and influencer who is honest (and you were in the game too, so mad respect).
