Friday Night Funkin’ (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron “ninjamuffin99” Taylor, David “PhantomArcade” Brown, Isaac “Kawai Sprite” Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.

The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. The gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.

The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin’: The Full Ass Game is under development.

Friday Night Funkin’ Lullaby is a mod created and directed by Banbuds that revolves around Pokémon creepypastas. The main weeks are inspired by Hypno’s Lullaby, Easter Egg: Snow on Mount Silver, Lost Silver, and Buried Alive; MissingNo. is also present.

There are also several bonus songs that can be bought from the Shop. These are inspired by DISABLED, Strangled Red, Hell Bell, Glitchy Red, and a Jigglypuff image of unknown origin. There are also a few bonus songs based on original material made for the mod.

This mod was released at approximately midnight on Halloween, 2021, while the unfinished V2 Update prematurely released on October 22, 2022.

  1. Monochrome as Papyrus would be better since in his genocide it said in the box *Forgettable.* + Pokemon Trainer that tried to get all the pokemon doesnt that seem like a monster trying to get into the royal guard?

  3. My headcanon so far:

After genocide, Frisk was left alone still trapped in the underground with no way out. Each character has become a heavily destroyed/distorted version of themselves, alive or not.

After Flowey got hit so many times in genocide, his health overflowed backwards causing him to have near infinite amount of health and corrupting his spritesheet and data. His spritesheet became a conglomerate of random sprites thrown together.

  4. Undertale corruption/HATE.exe my beloved

Edit from the first idiot here: People keep saying that W.D. Gaster is part of the design, but I'm 100% sure that's actually Undyne. It only looks like Gaster because of the eye patch, I think.

  5. So I think kabutops is "spell" (unfinished move for player)
Lavender town ghost is flowey (this sprite is from omega flowey fight beginning)
"Yellow" Misssingno is "error" text (if u talk to flowey while debug or any cheat mode enabled)
    And aerodactyl is "save" star
    Yeah im totally undertale stan

  6. I love how they seem to reference room spritecheck a bit?
Really good song too! love it

Edit: actually, it sounds like they looked at a lost bits video and shoved all the cool stuff there like one of the error texts, the spell button, a bone, etc…
    And the torches
