Cyberpunk 2077 Controversy Gets WORSE – Last Gen Systems IGNORED, Negative Reviews, & MORE!

Cyberpunk 2077 continues to struggle as CD Projekt Red admits in an investor’s call that the last gen versions of the game were left to the wayside. Furthermore, the refund plan they put into place has become even more messy and if that’s not bad enough, more negative reviews have poured in. Just an extremely disappointing launch for a game that is awesome under the myriad of problems.

  1. I appreciate your feedback on my review. It will remain up and I have added the following message to the description. Give it a read and let me know what you think!

Community Note: After asking my audience in a follow-up news video about the future of this review given that most people won't be accessing the experience I had due to the game being focused on a next-gen/PC, we decided as a community to leave the review up and emphasize once more this was on PC. All issues from console copies not being available, to holding CDPR accountable for their lacking of transparency, and a breakdown of the bugs/glitches along with my personal critique of aspects of the game is included. To emphasize once more, this game was reviewed on PC with zero patches until about 4 days into the single week I had with the game. Transparency is key here. If you are watching this as a PS4/XB1 gamer, please wait until further patches are out to fix this game. We will be returning to it then and breaking it down. I also changed the thumbnail. Comments fairly noted I was holding a PS4 copy and my reasoning behind this decision was purely because PC copies of the box art noted a digital code and no game disc in the box which I thought was perplexing. However, after tinkering in photoshop, I got something more representative and I think people being upset with that is fair. I appreciate the constructive criticism on that front and do keep it coming!

  2. As long as you're giving your honest opinion, don't worry about it. Sometimes people don't agree, but isn't that kind of the point? Be real, tell me what you really think, and I'll keep watching your channel.

  3. Even if didn't have a single glitch or bug. Even if it ran in 4k 60fps on consoles. The game is still DOG SHIT. The AI is worse then 20 year old games. It's not even an rpg you can't interact with anything. Driving is shit. The story is the same no matter what start you choose. Police spawn on top of you shooting no matter where you are when committing a crime. Driving is atrocious, so bad the police can't even drive cars. The list goes on forever.

  4. Leave your review Matty, because it still reflects reality of a player base on PC. I play on X 1 X, but realize your review will still benefit me even if we are not having the same qualitative experience on both platforms. Please leave your review, because it will benefit all players regardless of platform.

  6. I had a feeling this was going to happen that is why I didn’t buy the game. I’ve been burned one too many times on games. I’ll just wait until mid March or when this game goes in sale to get it.

  7. I feel like unlisting a review just because some other news or issue comes about is kind of unprofessional/shady/misleading… You made a review telling the people how you felt about the game… Stand on it… I would just put a disclaimer saying it's based on the PC version… But to totally get rid of it seems strange

  8. In an alternate timeline, we’d all be talking about builds, the story, different tips, guides, etc. Instead we’re all here discussing the bugs and glitches and the surrounding drama. It’s a damn shame.

  9. When you see games like red dead redemption 2 absolutely blow you away on last gen consoles, it sparks thought as to where cd project went wrong with their optimisation? p.s. ive also had a good experience with the current patch on PC what you said in your review is relatable. Like others have said put emphasis on "HIGH END PC REVIEW" love the channel bless your work Matty man.

  10. Just call the review a PC only review. I'm having a blast on pc with minor bugs but most of the time it's fine. It's time for separate console reviews by all outlets who reviewed it before launch day. Otherwise people could buy a broken game.

  11. on top of all that bugs and glitches there are so many broken mechanics in the game, just a big shitshow…im having fun with the game on a pc, but further i get more stuff come up…

  12. Appreciate the effort you put into everything Matty.
Of all the people planning to get this, how many we're getting it on PS4 and Xbox one? 90%? (You can't even get a next gen console right now) I just think right now, to review this game PC only is not accurately portraying it to the general gaming community.

  13. This game had an original release date of spring 2020. By default that means it was targeted for last gen consoles.

Cdpr then quickly whipped a shroud around their corporate strategy, censored reviews on console knowing their product was defective and charged near full price for the game ($10 off).

They issued an apology but some folks have moved on to other titles by now. Defective products and lack of corporate disclosure are things I havent the time for.

  14. Can u just make a separate review for Xbox one/PS4? I rented it on xb1 and played 2 hours and sent it back, it was not good. I'm gonna wait a few months and try it again

  15. Hey Matty, I don't think you did anything wrong by reviewing the game you were given, sorry to hear these ignorant bastards are giving you crap for it . Definitely feel like changing the thumbnail and addressing it's the PC version is for sure enough. Keep up the good work, homie.

  16. Leave your review. You pointed out it was based on PC. If people cant listen or understand that then that's anther problem all together. I have it on PC and its a Buggy mess. But is playable and the story is really good. Im sure once the bugs are fixed it will be much better.

  17. Great work Matty, don't want to sound sycophantic but I'm glad to have found a dude on YT doing game reviews with integrity. Also, good thing I'm not getting a new PC until next year. Guess I'll keep playing Pathfinder Kingmaker, Dragon Age Inquisition and Shadowrun until these new games get theirs bugs patched up.

  18. I would leave the review up, there are still many people that play on PC and you stated many times that you played it on PC. If anything I would just make an edit to the description explaining the context of your situation and that it does't play well on base consoles.

  19. Best game I’ve played this year and I’m on Xbox. I swear you game critics are a bunch of spineless weasels that just do this crap for attention. It’s amazing to have a AAA game nowadays that’s not full of micro transactions and developed from ground up to just be fun. But u idiots apparently aren’t satisfied

  20. I have 40 hours on the PS4 and though it’s true the bugs are very much there, the game has still been a lot of fun. Makes me wonder if the people doing the most complaining ever played games similar to this on launch, Skyrim and Witcher 3 for example. Very buggy at launch but was smoothed over with time. It just feels like the next thing to be outraged about and people hopping on the bandwagon.

  21. Don’t listen to the people giving you crap because they apparently didn’t run into the same bugs as you. Your review is precisely what it is ‘your’ review. You can only tell others what you experienced, and based upon that experience alone, recommend accordingly. I remember watching your stuff for the first time back on the lead up to the Fallout 4 launch (which I waited outside my city centre’s game shop until midnight to buy on launch!) I know you can’t compare Cyberpunk with Gta or Fallout but when you look back at those franchises and their launches, the amount of bugs and crashes is nowhere near the scale of Cyberpunk 2077. I can’t even remember seeing a single bug on my day one experience of Fallout 4.
Anyways great vid man as always, Merry Christmas.

  22. I hope you don’t take down your review. I think reviewers should only speak to their personal experiences. Period. You can touch on surrounding issues that you may not have experienced but when I listen so someone’s review about anything I only want to hear one thing; what THEY experienced.
