The footage contains SPOILERS*.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 as terrible as the echo-chamber makes it out to be? Doubtful. Did it fail to deliver on its many promises? Absolutely. But if we’re being realistic, no game could have lived up to such ridiculously high expectations, at least not after 5 years of development. (True dev work began after the “Blood and Wine” Witcher 3 expansion was released, in may of 2016. Writing and Concept did indeed begin in 2013)
So let’s try to view this game for what it is, not for what it was supposed to be.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 – A disastrous Launch
1:32 – A brief Overview
2:25 – The City
3:55 – Freeroam
6:18 – What’s this game’s focus?
7:59 – Masterful Storytelling
11:15 – Story Issues
13:49 – Checklist Gaming
16:51 – Combat
20:28 – Character Builds
22:52 – Criticism & Suggestions
23:55 – Defund the NCPD **
26:18 – Rebalancing Combat
30:25 – Cut Content & Poor Optimization
35:22 – Comparisons with other games ***
37:53 – Early Access
39:32 – Final Score
* – I took care not to discuss any spoilers from the game, but editing this video without showing some key moments and characters was an impossible task, considering the huge amount of scenes in it.
** – here I suggest an easier alternative to coding Police AI, and why it makes sense to remove the wanted system altogether.
*** – technically, I compare Cyberpunk with other games (especially GTA) throughout this entire video, but here I draw some parallels to a lot more titles.
I have more things to write in this description, but I’ll do so at a later time.

Damn fine video! Best review I've see of this game. Also, I can't agree more with all of your praise, criticism and feelings towards this game. 10/10.
Your suggestions have been compiled and sent to CDPR and their reply is we'll get to work on it, when its ready
I think the biggist mistake CDPR made was the size of the map.I don't think even a 20-30% downsize would've benn noticeable, considering how empty the world can be.They could've spent more resources on polishing the game and it would've been way more optimized. What I don't get is why ppl still hoping that they will resolve this, especially after the patches. The game still can't stand on it's own feet yet a lot of players talking about DLC's.The problems are so fundamental in many aspects of the game, it's burnt in to its DNA, you can't rosolve that. However, maybe they learn and next time they can grow up to their ambition, but looking at how they handling the situation even that is unlikely, we'll see, said the blind man.
Just out of curiosity, how would you rate the romance from KCD / compare it to Cyberpunk?
man, those suggestions would make the game sooo much better. well, one can dream, right?
Good review probably the best one I’ve seen. I gave it the same score after I completed the game but I got my refund, there just wasn’t enough to warrant a second play
never played the game, dont even plan on buying it. Still watching cause youre a good narrator.
and people still defending this game. lmao
You're severely underrated!
Very well done review!!!
Don't plan on buying this anytime soon, even if I get a better pc, but having to listen to this review specifically..OOF. In darts terms, it's Triple 20's one after another. You were meant for this.
The only time I felt that I had to plan for a job was with Panam and even though the dialogue (techie) make me felt that I was helping I wasn't changing anything.(that's what the dialogue choices made me feel on my first playthrough)
It feels like V only now stuff but can't use it on the field to improvise or to make a plan for himself
Nah fuck Cyberpunk, do more content for Bannerlord
I also spent 200+h in CP2077 and enjoyed every bit of it. I'm currently on my third playthrough with no intention of stopping anytime soon.
This review is as critical and fair as it promises! I approve.
Excellent review, I think you really captured the feeling I had from this game, where certain aspects were so so fun, only to be interrupted by bugs or clearly unfinished systems. Had they released this as a beta, I would have had no issues with it. But paying 60 eddies for this was ridiculous. I ended up refunding and am going to wait to see if it gets any better in a year or two.
Wow that was a good level headed review…..very informative leaving a like for that. Not just aimlessly throwing hate but real critism of the game
I appreciate the time you took with this, giving a fair review instead of a knee-jerk reaction upon release, or a blind fan boy love letter. Keep it up man
Could you do a review video on the witcher also?
Bruh your editing is so fire!! Please tell me you'll do more reviews on other games
Found your video by accident, couldn't place your accent innitially but i think(i might be wrong) you're a compatriot of THE BEST MotoGP RIDER THAT EVER LIVED: Vale46. I subscribed. Love your content.
Well put together as always 👍🏻🦁
Several levels above you….dude, there are no levels on the enemies xD
You hit the nail with the cyberpsychosis bit I’m upset they took away actual rpg consequences just to appeal to the causal markets power fantasy. Like humanity points being a factor in make the player run the risk of being a cyber psycho was something this game could’ve been legendary for… yes it punishes the player but that’s a more memorable experience than playing cyber saints row 2069…
solid review. fully agree with all the points, especially the difficulty settings. i'm always too tired to put time into planning while on hard+ difficulties. cp77 surprised me. a solid build will flat all enemies in seconds. i made a (happy) mistake of going netrunner on my first playthrough, which made the gameplay exciting at the beginning but later on just straight up boring. you just look at people, upload 3 deamons (contagion is my favorite but it's also the strongest one, especially with wall-hacking) and within 5 seconds half the city drops dead. monowire being linked to netrunning in the promo content sounded solid but now you don't even need line of sight to kill enemies. wack.
many aspects of the game need to be polished, sure, but i'm looking forward to the future updates. i've sunk a little over 300h into the game and enjoyed it lots, on a ps4 btw. cp77 rests on my shelf for now, collecting dust, becuase better optimized games are avaliable on the market. still, the moment cdpr comes out with something big, i'll gladly boot it up with excitement. the world, story and some characters were really good and i wanna see more of them.
I love this game I played WITCHER 3 for 300+ hours and it was a fascinating game which gives you slow paced emotions and story and you can spend your time relaxing… cyberpunk however is the game that had be super excited throughout + adrenaline rushes are insane it's about 45 hours if you do major side questioned before ending and I loved every bit of it .. I'm in pc tbh I hardly faced 5-10 bugs in my entire playthrough … I love the characters combat cyberware graphics story I love it … The only thing that put me off was unfinished things…like less animation, water mechanics straight out missing so much cut content is clearly visible in the city .. they rushed the game just IF THEY WORKED FOR 2 YEARS MORE it would have been best game ever for me ..its amazing how they made me fall in love with it even after having terrible and unfinished ai /physics evn though I was coming from rdr2 which has the best mechanics ever .. this game will be truly a masterpiece if they work hard in it for at least 2 years before that its just decent enough
great review. also dissembling to make crafting components takes all day should’ve talk about that part too
I personally don't agree with some of your points but that doesn't stop me seeing where you are coming from. Extremely well made and thought out review. Your points made alot of sense and you judged the game fairly which is rare for this game. I'd personally still give the game an 8 maybe 9 as i liked it that much but i understand a 6 rn. Good job
I didn't follow the hype train so it's probably game of the year for me. I have 70 hours on my streetkid character and over 20 hours with my corpo character.
Great review, this is a sorely underexposed channel
Dammm very good analysis of the game, 👍👍👍
a good game but then not worth the hype. i agree with your gameplay concerns. 6/10. best facets are the graphics, true open world setting, and the storylines. The one with the sapient vending machine was pretty touching. aand the endings are very esoteric. the characters are good.
Great review – played the game and I have to agree with this review in 100%. It really highlights the pros and cons of the game and hits the nail on the head, in terms, what the game really is. I have to admit that I am really enjoying the channel content so far. Great find. Nice Job Youtube alg. Subscribed.
You make me wonder why I am playing this game so much and not making up a new Fallout NV character. Why, why???
Can you do more games review.
Your analysis was on point and complete.
It will be really useful reviews like this one when ordering a game
Honestly, if they took the Yakuza game concept with a smaller but more interactive world, it could have been an instant classic.
