  1. Lasguns could be particle weapons instead of lasers. Some kick but should have no muzzle lift. No gas system, kinetic recoil or slide action. Shouldn't 'lift' but might 'push' back, similar to a semi-auto .223 AR.

  2. Here are my guesses for the characters other than the ogryn and the acolyte. Going by that scene where they are walking towards the camera from left to right. I think the one on the left is either a Tempestus Scion or a Cadian Kasrkin. He's definitely wearing carapace armor rather than standard flak armor so he's not just a regular trooper. The one on the right is either an Interrogator from the inquisition or a cadet commissar. The power sword suggests someone of higher status; this might count against cadet commissar since you don't automatically get stuff like that just for graduating the schola progenium. I wasn't able to spot any inquisitorial emblem, though you don't always go flashing those around.

  3. I think with laser weaponry you should have slight amount of recoil from super heated air expanding on the reflectory barrel thingamajig and that beam of energy again super heating air where it goes, combined with, well steam explosion of super heated flesh, blood and occasionally armor of various kind. Also this steam explosion should depend on where battle is fought, since underhive is damp shitty place so more moisture, where in spire its potentially controlled high degree so way less moisture, so missed shots hitting the wall should have different effect, specially considering how little maintenance underhive walls get compared to spire.

  4. I think you just don't understand how the melee combat works in the Tide games very well. What you are seeing in the melee weapons is specifically how the combat model is designed. The blows that cleave through enemies do that on purpose. Different weapons will have different combos, and those combos will be comprised of cleaves, strikes, and the heavy versions of each. Learning your combos and timing your cleaves and strikes is a key part of playing at higher difficulties.

  5. Surprised they didn't have a Commissar type character, having a Commissar scream at heretics would be very enjoyable. Especially if there are lines between them and the Ogryn since Commissars are basically their babysitters. I mean hell, we had a Witch Hunter in Vermintide that had the voice and attitude of a Commissar.

  6. Well, tbh guns without recoil would be boring to shoot. No "ompf". So I personally don't have any problem with recoil on las weapon. And I'm pretty sure there is a lore or theory explainin this issue somewhere

  7. My guess at 8:00 is that the Ogryn is using a single shot grenade launcher to pulverize the weaker traitors, while he shoots the 3rd bigger guy point blank in the chest. I'm guessing the grenade must travel a certain distance before arming, therefore making it a giant slug when it hits an enemy that's too close.
Edit: As for additional characters/classes I'd love to see added later in the game's lifespan, I'd like to see Temple Assassin(s), not any one in particular. I think the Vindicare Temple would be a weak choice, but cool none-the-less. My picks (in order) would be: Callidus, Eversor, then Culexus. The Culexus Temple would be another semi-weak choice because of how niche their preferred targets are. Practically only Psykers, but it would be cool.

  8. Idk, my first ever Warhammer game was Total War Warhammer II, so it’ll be really weird seeing guys with high tech military weapons gunning down the usual Chaos spawn. Now if they let players combine magic with gunplay, I’ll be VERY impressed. Soulstealer rounds, burning head bullets, Shade-launchers, Purple Sun barriers, I can think of some more… 🤔🤔

  9. So far it looks like a 40k reskin of Vermintide or Left 4 Dead (although that isn't a big surprise or a particularly big negative.) Not sure if the female "guardsman" is supposed to be an officer, a scout, or some sort of deathcult assassin that was given Cadian wargear (although I admit the last one is very unlikely.) The other three look pretty cut and dry: mid-tier assault class, melee nutter, and tank/heavy gunner. Kind of disappointed we did not get a Tech-Priest joining in the fun but eh, can't have everything I guess.

And yes Arch, Nurgle is almost certainly the main antagonist. In the image you pause on at 5:25, one of the traitor guardsman (the one with the three-eyed NVG) is holding a lasgun with Nurgle's symbol painted on the stock
