NB:
When this video was originally published, one of our presenters (CG) claimed that the voice actor for Claire in the Spanish version of the game was voiced by a male actor, which is incorrect. This section has since been removed. The actress in question is Abril Zamora, who is a trans woman. GHG would like to apologise for the offensive implications of this comment and commit to being more rigorous about such claims in the future.
We hope that this can be a good object lesson in how easy it is to slip into transphobic and offensive tropes/ways of thinking about queer & trans peoples’ bodies based on surface-level assumptions, even while attempting to be “critical”. We hope we can grow from this experience
and we hope that our audience can as well.
