Outriders is an upcoming cooperative role-playing third-person video game developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix’s European subsidiary. It is set to be released on April 1, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer. These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills. Players can use different weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles to defeat enemies, and firearms can be customized with weapon mods. Players can hide behind cover to shield themselves from enemy attacks, though health will only regenerate if the player manages to hurt or kill enemies. Players combat both monsters and human enemies. As the player progresses, the world level (the game’s equivalent to gameplay difficulty) will increase. If the world level is high, it is more likely for the player to get high-end loot from defeated enemies.
The game incorporates various role-playing elements. In this video Dreamcastguy does a deep dive review of the demo while talking over gameplay in a review style format. As the players explore, they can explore different hub areas, talk to non-playable characters and complete side missions. In cutscenes a dialogue tree allows to decide the outcome of some conversations, though it does not affect the story’s progression. The game can be played solo, but players can also complete the game together with two other players.

  1. LOVE that it looks and seems to play like Gears of War. Past GOW 3 the series went to shit imo, especially gameplay wise, hope this is a new breath of fresh air like Remnant from the Ashes was for soulsborne esque games.

  2. I played the demo of Outriders on Steam earlier today and beat the demo in two and a half hours! I'm using the pyromancer class! I had fun with the demo and if you thought your playthrough of the demo was to easy, you might want to make an outrider with a different class than the technomancer! That outrider class from what I saw from your recorded playthrough footage is the easiest to make progress through according to the main campaign! I had a tougher challenging system with my pyromancer outrider and I died many times on most enemy encounters! The only boss I manage to win on during my first try against was that electromancer Gauss! The other two bosses I fought took me tries and tries! Yes the first one I fought and beat was that captain which that wounded woman hiding under rubble waste requested me to do! I think I want Outriders as a birthday present since it releases on April 2021 during my birth month! I perfectly respect your opinion with this game as like any other game this in Outriders is not for everyone!

Iam disappointed with the graphics it does not look a top notch title , so disappointed with square enix , this unreal engine is shit dated , i remember was used for ps3 games . i have pre ordered the game the copy and will play and see if its going to get any better .

  4. Love the combat love the trickster the loot is amazing probably the best in one of these type of games. I will say if you're not a loot shooter fan you're probably not going to like it but it's already much better than destiny for me. I came from division so I would compare it to that but division's better obviously it's AAA game whereas this is a double a game

  5. My biggest issues with the game are the matchmaking is horrible akin to avengers which scares me. also the cover system needs some work there are times when you cannot get into cover are you getting knocked out and you can't get back in for 5 seconds.

  6. That was a terrible review soldier. I put in over 23 hours into the game Max Level Devestator and Trickster, Level 5 Pyro, and Level 4 Techno. I have been recently grinding for legendaries. If you have not played with each of the classes You are unfit to give a true review. I admit I prefer Devastator and Trickster due to close range but with time I have become accustomed to Pyro and Techno. The Loot feels just right and I love that Blue gear gives you a supporting perk to your class. You did not do a good job Dreamcast Guy. This gives me Your "Assassin's Creed: Origins Review" Vibes. Just terrible. Don't rush it next time. Have a good day

  7. Played with friends. I didn't do any random match making…

I love this demo. Yes the dialogue is corny, off sync, but the game is hella meme – able. The way ppl just die in this game is hilarious

  8. Lost all respect for you when you said this of course is going to be a games a as service project. Uh … If you had bothered to EVER listen to anything at all from the developers then you would know that this IS A COMPLETE GAME AND ISN'T A GAMES AS A SERVICE PROJECT LIKE AVENGERS etc.

  9. If you start thinking of it as more similar to Warframe than Destiny you'll enjoy it more. Being able to constantly use your abilities and combo them with allies and mods is what makes it fun…no doubt the difficulty will ramp up beyond the demo for more challenging levels
