Dyson Sphere Program | #4 PLANETARY DRONES ARE TAKING OVER | Lets Play/Guide/Walkthrough

DYSON SPHERE PROGRAM
Build the most efficient intergalactic factory in space simulation strategy
game Dyson Sphere Program! Harness the power of stars, collect resources, plan and design production lines and develop your interstellar factory from a small space workshop to a galaxy-wide industrial empire
Combining Factorio and Satisfactory on a Galactic scale!

ABOUT THE GAME
Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure,
exploration and factory automation elements where you have to build your
own galactic industrial empire from scratch
In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks
to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed – a machine which superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will
push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough
energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing a Dyson
Sphere, a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its
power and energy. Only a few decades ago it was considered a hypothetical, impossible invention – but now it’s in your hands… if you can manage to develop this space workshop in some galactic backwater into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire!

ABOUT EARLY ACCESS
While the core mechanics of Dyson Sphere Program are ready, the game still can grow and evolve a lot – and Early Access is just the perfect place for it to reach its true potential. We believe that by letting players experience the main content of Dyson Sphere Program and actively interacting with them to collect their feedback will allow us to improve the game and make it much better than it would be without this Early Access stage. Our plans are for this EA stage to be about 1 year long. But that is not written in stone

KEY FEATURES
◇ Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy

  1. I see the game does not skimp on "you can't turn around in space without expending a shitton of energy"
because that is indeed how it works in real life, and technically it's true in the atmosphere too, it's just that you can use the air or ground to exert that force, wheras in space you have to FIRE YOUR MAIN ENGINES FOR AN ETERNITY and this is why we don't reverse orbits folks

  2. Great production values Nilaus! Oh and as we already know from Factorio, good and neat building! Once one thinks in terms of tileable building, one can never stop 😉

And after managing Angels+Bobs, rate based building and planning is a snap 🙂

  3. If you're orbiting a gas giant your orbit is blocked for some periods of time that mean all or most of the solar sails will deplete.
You need to build a death star on a planet orbiting the sun in your home system XD

  4. hahaha "I missed my planet"…. I know that feeling. So often in the begin I was overshooting. But at some point you will have more energy capacity to break and all becomes more easy 🙂 But those first times when you overshoot are really annoying. All because it takes so long to make that turn and align yourself again with limited amounts of energy. But all will be better soon, thrust me 🙂
(just make sure you always have energy to break)

  5. you can put the items directly in to the Drone Tower, just Open the Tower menu and drop the item you want from your inventory on the item Symbol in the Tower Menu, same goes for getting items out of the Tower directly.

  6. I also missed my planet once and ran out of energy trying to turn around… I think it would be good if they let you steer very slowly when this happens so you might not get stuck in space without fuel.

  7. Hey, Nilaus! You can directly insert things into the logistics stations. You just have to hold everything on your hand (ctrl click on your inventory works), and then drop them (by clicking) on one of the icons already set up on the logistics station info panel.

  8. Oh… And to keep steering towards your planet, just keep it centered with your mouse, and hold W. It shouldn't use too much fuel as it won't accelerate, just adjust the trajectory towards where you're pointing 🙂

  9. You can add another orbit for the solar sails that matches the axial inclination of the planet you're launching from. Every launcher you have on the pole will be able to fire.

  10. rush to interstellar logistics. its the only way to reliably get titanium and silicon. It is absurd how developed this game is given the small team that has worked on it….(supposedly) also everyone, and i mean everyone who has left their planet, has overshot the landing.

  11. on a unrelated note in my cluster i found a 0-type star with a lumination value of x2.4 then built a sphere as large as i could.
now i have almost 800GW of power.. now i am shipping acumulators to all my bases for power from it

  12. 48:05 — "After this, it's time to scale up and look at the next level of tech." said Nilaus, as his global logistics network provided yet more solar lightsail ammo for his circumpolar railgun battery.

Also, this is such a pretty game. It's like everything you can do in DSP is pure screenshot bait.

  13. One item that could be useful, is a 'redirector'. It has the 4 openings like a splitter or a merger, but each of the 4 openings can be custom set to either receive or send out. So if you need a merger you can set 3 of the openings to input and 1 to output, while if you need a splitter you can set one opening to input and 3 openings to output. The real fun is if you can then filter the outputs

  14. Great stuff Nilaus. Watched a couple of other random youtubers when I was researching whether to get this game or not and I couldn't deal with how haphazardly they planned their playthroughs. But when I saw that you finally started a playthrough I realized that this game is worth getting! Probably won't replace factorio as my main timesink, but it's nice to try something new.

  15. You can check if continuous power bar is going up or down on the ray receivers. If its going up its getting full power even if the area is night. They can be a decent way behind the horizon and still get power as the dyson swarm is much larger diameter than the star and I think they just need line of sight to part of the swarm. The low power output was partly cause your swarm wasn't very large yet but also cause continuous receiving increased power output as it fills.

Also don't shrink the swarm size, if anything you want to keep growing it. Partly because receiving efficiency means you need to over produce. Also the infrastructure for it will support building the dyson sphere as its parts use solar sails. Plus it makes setting up swarms in other star systems easer. Power requirements really grow fast later on.

Great methodological approach to your building.

  16. Im slightly ahead of you on my playthrough so I still get to discover the game for myself but your videos provide very valuable tips and tricks that made my base way more efficient, please keep em coming!! I especially like how you take the time to break down the design phase of a build in terms of ratios and time, which is quite new to me for not having played factorio. Arigato very mucho my dude! 👍👍

  17. So I just achieved my first warp to a neighbouring star. First planet I check out: a tidally locked lush planet with lots of buildable space, lots of oil, millions of spiniform and organic to exploit, shit-tons of coal, a lil' titanium and a hefty amount of silicon. Forget my old spaghetti, I'm putting down roots here!

  18. I wanted to restart a play through, but my starter planet was tilted at 75° off axis. This made my day/night sucked really wonky. Quarter of the year was daytime, quarter night and half the time was normal day night. It also means a polar EM rail or solar panel doesn’t work half the time. Also the nodes were situated really weird. Made for a very hard start.

  19. Have you noticed the regular old assemblers are only 75% efficient. So even if you check the recipes for crafted things take for example 4 seconds, an assembler mk.1 is 25% slower, so it uses 5 seconds to make it… the assembler mk.2 on the other hand makes it at 1x speed.

  20. is how far upwards you can look limited, cause you never seem to look upwards enough to look at things overhead.
also 46:50 is a magnificent view and it alone is something that makes me want to get the game. just looking an interplanetary production chains and marveling at what you have created and are yet to create sounds like an excellent way to burn 30 minutes
