vertical construction does what the name says and it allows you to stack research labs/storage onto each other with good transport between the entities that are stacked

Splitter could be used has a merger with input and output priority
In sail mode you can get to the other planet. It takes some time without upgrades but is possible and at some point you need to go for a lot of titanium. Great game .
Cant wait for the interplanetary transport setup episode. The legendariness!!
