Since the start of the pandemic we have broken down barriers in education that might have otherwise taken 20 years. The disruption caused by Covid-19 has accelerated our knowledge of what works in EdTech, and what still needs to be addressed.
EDUCATE, the UK’s leading EdTech research accelerator, along with Cambridge University Press, has been mapping these challenges and opportunities through the eyes of parents, teachers, heads and technology companies, and with the imminent release of our report in February, can now make recommendations for the short and long term UK educational landscape.
To get a flavour of the report, we’ve produced a small 4-page teaser you can download at https://www.educateventures.com/lessons-from-covid-19
Join Professor Rose Luckin, Dr Carmel Kent, and a host of special guests and friends, as they highlight the key themes that have come out of the analysis of this disruption, and watch an expert panel go through the findings from their research, discussing what has and hasn’t worked in the last year, and what pedagogy, online architecture, and digital infrastructure is needed in UK schools and tertiary education to ensure we thrive in the years to come.

ENGAGEMENT – how to capitalise on the rise of positive engagement in technology for all stakeholders, not just the primary users
ASSESSMENT – the dangers of alienating learners through the continuation of traditional methods, that have historically disadvantaged already disadvantaged people, and how a radical rethink might not have to hurt first to help later
PEDAGOGY – the act of building pedagogy in educational institutions coming before online infrastructure is erected
