Created and hosting your own server, or just can’t play on a friends server? Well, if you’ve tried adding it to Steam, it may not show up on the list. This video covers a few simple fixes that you could use to make sure you can actually join the server. Some are super simple.

Hi, and thanks. My gf's computer is also hardwired 10ft from my PC which is hosting the server. I can log in to the server on my computer and see it on my Favorites Server list on Steam and in Start Game in Valheim. On my girlfriend's PC it does not show up in Valheim under community (set public to 1) nor does it show up when I trying adding a server to favorites in Steam. When trying to add it, I used the IP address I got from right clicking the server on my PC in the steam servers list. I tried changing it from 2456, 2457, and 2458 but it never popped up. Am using the right IP? Why isn't it showing up in Valheim servers either?
I also tried cmd > ping 192.168.0.xxx
Once with xxx being from r-clicking my server on steam and using that IP
and Once with xxx being from cmd > ipconfig IPv4 Address
I have opened all ports 2456-2458 on both computers Windows Firewall and forwarded these ports on my Cox router. I restarted both computers also.
My server doesnt even start. It opens CMD for like 10 seconds and then closes on me

So I made my server with no issues at all. My friend that I mainly play with, who lives 10/15 minutes from me can join when ever. However, when my friends from Canada and Bahrain try to join they can't. They can't find the server, join my game through Steam, or find it in game from the IP.

My friends can connect through my online IP and for myself the server will show up in the server list in Valheim. But somehow for my friends the server won't show up in the in-game server list. Any suggestions?

ok i still have a problem. i can join and find my own server. i find find it on steam servers and join through there and i can join by putting my IP in the in-game option. but my brother cant. he cant find it on steam or cant join through IP in his in-game options. whats going on? i can find it but he cant.
i cant join my roommates server but everyone else can, the only difference between us is that we are on the same network. joining localhost gives me a "server is not responding" error
still doesnt work for me same issue i can connect friends cant even though it worked yesterday (static ip)

I don't get it my friend set up a server from a hosting company. when I go to the community list I only get 1 server with the similar name as he is using and a total of 4402 server. When he does the exact same search he gets around 4800 servers and 3 listings of servers. When I add the server to my favorite in steam it shows up. but when I click connect it says no games or something like that. When I try to connect by IP address it does nothing you can click the connect button a million times and it does nothing. I know it is working because I can connect to another server by the same box.
I’m having this problem when u put the port up 1 it shows up on the steam servers but I put in the password it loads the game and just sits me on the main menu I’ve done everything a party from the port forwarding how do I do that ?
feel like an idiot, tried absolutely everything and still no luck. the servers up and running i just cannot connect to my friends or they cant join me. even tried a static IP. usually on top of stuff like this but it has completly baffled me!
So me and my friends are able to see the server in both the Valheim game client and I’m the steam server list, but whenever one of us tries to join we get a pop up that says disconnected. Anyone else have this issue or any fix for this issue? Thanks you !
