  1. I don’t like achievements/Trophies only because in a lot of games when you do something damn near Impossible… you don’t get an Incentive or something new from the game I Platinum god of war on the hardest Difficulty give me god of war and I didn’t get shit for doing that…See the devs will give you the Trophy…but not an extra weapon or something like that something that you can use..see I’m one Trophy away from getting a Platinum on Ghost of Tsushima… but I won’t get it because it’s glitched and they will give me a new outfit If I get it..

  2. For anyone that hasnt joined GamePass Ultimate : make sure to take full advantage of the “$1 for a month of GPU (i believe its 3 months till the end of the month for the holidays?) anyway, when you use that promo, they do a full 1 to 1 conversion of whatever Xbox Live Gold you already have prepaid into GPU, up to 3 years worth. So before you use the $1 promo, you can but a 2year gold card from costco.com for $100 and a 6month gold anywhere for $40 and then boom! 2 years and 7 months (or 9 if that $1 promo is still 3 months) of GPU for $141, total frickin steal instead of paying fullprice of GPU at &450

  3. A lot of Team Xbox has been on podcasts. I was always surprised to see Xbox employees (Major Nelson, Jason Ronald (I think), David Prien, and Mike Ybarra) on RDX Podcast. I listen to RDX but sometimes they can be all over the place.

Right now this is a tie for my second favorite Xbox podcast.

The Xbox Two is my favorite.
Then it is either Defining Duke or KFX.
Then obviously Major Nelson's Official Xbox Podcast.

Hope you guys can keep doing what you're doing and if things work out and you get greater access to Xbox then that will only strengthen the show. I listen because of you guys though. The access is just a perk.

  4. It annoys me the way people talk about Colin and his politics, like he has some kind of radical or extreme political views, when in actual fact if more Republicans were like Colin things would be a lot better in my view.

  5. Interesting how the traditionally PlayStation centric media’s are now introducing Xbox casts as well. (Kinda-funny).
Not sure how I feel about it – I respected it all a little more when these were passion project (although business centric)

  6. No offense. Constructive criticism, but you're not even Xbox fans. For example when you talked about the Xbox One Generation exclusives there could've been a lot of cool games you could've mentioned but instead you opted for Cuphead and Sunset Overdrive. Not saying those games are bad, but Cuphead isn't even exclusive and it is only well know because of all the issue of it's funding; and Sunset Overdrive is only known because Insomniac Games is now owned by Sony. If you want a good and kind of not-so-well-known list of exclusive Xbox games I'd recommend Killer Instinct (2013), Rare Replay, Ryse: Son of Rome, or easily enough any Forza. Xbox is not only Halo and Gears.
True, this last gen that just ended eas a bit weak specially at the beginning, but we all know that is about to change just seeing the roadmap. Anyway, please don't hate me, I do enjoy your podcast but just wanted to give my take that is basically that I don't really see you as "Xboxers" but I know you're trying your best

  7. Think you guys missed a point about the series S, at its price point and with game pass its perfect to sit alongside a ps5, I stopped buying both PlayStation and xbox with the launch of the ps4 and xbox one, simply could not justify the cost of both, went with Sony because of the exclusives. But to pick up an S for £250 I'm in the UK is amazing, my main console will be my PS5 I have a massive back catalogue off games on that system but with game pass I'm having a great time playing games I missed on the one and going back to some great older games ( working my way through gears 1-5) great pod cast guys

  8. Just wanna mention, appreciate ACG pointing out that those who watch aren’t necessarily into the S, cause I don’t give much of a fuck about graphics/frame rates, so if I was to pick up next gen the S would probably be it simply for it being cheaper.

  9. Might have misheard, but did ACG state that Series S had NVMe and Series X doesn't? Bit confused. Thought both had it.

To help define the demographic, this gen I went with a PS5 DE and Xbox Series S. Last XB I owned was the X360. I managed to get into next-gen with both feet for only £600. I totally love the Series S and how powerful it is. I should be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 4K since that's my bread and butter, but the Series S outputs a very clean and sharp 1080p. All games are stunning and feature all the shaders and all the textures and the same drawing distances as on the Series X. The only minus is the resolution and as it turns out, it doesn't bother me. I have a 4K LG UJ630V and it does the job perfectly.

I could've went for a Series X, but I didn't feel pressure to. Would have been overkill alongside my PS5. The only games I care to play at maximum specs are multiplatform anyways so that's what the PS5 will be for. Still, the Series S is a great choice and I don't think it'll take more than half this gen before it starts feeling outdated.

  10. I primarily am a pc gamer now. I am considering a series S for multiplayer games with friends that have stayed in console space. I could see the S being picked up by playstation core players that want cheaper access to future xbox/pc exclusives.

  12. I like the way Steam handles achievements. Zero pressure or rewards other than popping the achievement itself. There's no pressure, so i've only really ever striven to 100% 3 different games.

But then again there's games like Pay Day 2 that have over 1200 achievements…

  13. There's a risk The Medium sounds like a disappointment if it's not properly explained that Blobber team is a AA studio that specializes in atmospheric games with visuals focusing on art and atmosphere, with heavy themes and which are "walking simulators" to an extent. The Medium is not going to be a game for everyone, it's not a flagship AAA game and it's not going to have exhilarating gameplay or state-of-the-art graphics.

I'm 95% sure I'm going to like it because I enjoy the studio's previous work a lot, have 0 issues with walking and talking and psychological horror is one of my favorite genres, but caution must be advised and not just for the mature content.
