GODSEND || Funkin' Corruption: Reimagined

FCR is back… sort of

This was gonna be part of an extras update we were gonna develop out of the public eye, but one thing led to another and now we’re just sort of putting things out as they finish. Make sure to stay tuned because I and other musicians are gonna be posting more songs down the line!

For you lore enthusiasts this song takes place in the same timeline as Resurgence. BF finally finds a way to influence the world around him, and now it’s just a matter of getting Senpai and Spirit to listen.

Go check out FCR at @DyanEstella’s channel if you haven’t already, and if you somehow haven’t watched the original series, go watch it at @PhantomFearYT’s channel!

Friday Night Funkin’ is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on itch.io.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn’t approve of him. It’s up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

  2. It's just awesome seeing things you've previously read in the form of a story get turned into something greater, like a song. It's literally almost like you're reading the lore doc as the song progresses, lmao, at first its just Narrator BF and Senpai, then Spirit comes out to talk to BF.
Incredible work as always, funny man, truly.

  3. I have a feeling that fcr should just only have the extras songs that have videos about them out on dyans channel should be released and the rest of the other songs left up to the community to chart and stuff that way it gets it over and done with while also shutting up the impatient people as well

  4. Honestly, this song is just beautiful. It has this "last hope" feeling I wish some songs like Chances would have. It really feels like our two singing foes are the only one able to change some things here
Talking about the song itself, it is great as usual (bro can't stop giving us peak content fr). I like how Spirit has a more distorsed voice than Senpai, it's a small detail but adds a lot more to the song, even though the instrumental is by far my favorite part of it. And of course, the huge amount of references to older songs such as Disconnection and Blissful Ignorance (also Savestate I think) is really cool to hear

One of my favorites so far. Even though I usually prefer intense songs, this one is just wonderful

  5. FCR IS BAAAACK! I never thought I would see the day that resurgence would get another song. the transitions between senpai and spirit are really well done. I also have to say that the dialog at the beginning is AMAZING and I wish more extras had dialog like this.

    Rant warning here btw:
TLDR: me salty about doomsday and time's up having lack of lore

(ik i say this alot but I feel like doomsday and time's up both got the short end of the stick compared to duality and rewind timelines.
I know that times up/doomsday are one-off things but having a little more to them would be really nice, even if it was just a bit of dialog like what you did here! Plus doomsday never even got a video unlike time's up, but I'll stop talking now cause i say this too much already)

  6. This is an amazing song, the instrumental and voices are incredibles!
Also… then this is the song before Resurgence… when Narrator Bf goes to Hating Simulator to warn Senpai/Spirit about Glitch and how to defeat him, trying to have a good final… but well… we know how it ends

  7. References to Resurgence's lore
"Are you alright? That was quite the fall." Narrator Bf entered in H.S and fell from a tree.
"Wait, you can see me?". Nobody could see him, but apparently in the game senpai could.
"You look pale". Narrator, after several attempts, was running out of energy.
"You gotta listen to me, thing are about to get bad" "We're all finished if we don't get ready." He wants to explain to Senpai/Spirit how to defeat corruption (Glitch Bf)

All that from the Lore Document xd

  8. If this is part of resurgence (which apparently has 3 songs including bereft), if this has to do with senpai and if the document is still canonical for resurgence then that means we all know how this will end, right? a red sludge getting into Bf and transforming him into that weird thing called Resurgence Bf

Cool song, from senpai's eyes Bf has mental problems

  9. I thought you had abandoned this project. It's been more than a year since the modification, and there are no updates or at least no information about the release date. I am very glad that the mod continues to be developed. Thank you!

  10. So the plot is basically this

Narrator goes to hating simulator, Senpai notices him and asks if he's alright, Narrator realises that Senpai can see and hear him so he decides to explain his whole situation to him in song.

(question, by "This was gonna be part of an extras update we were gonna develop out of the public eye, but one thing led to another and now we're just sort of putting things out as they finish.", were the songs scrapped from the extras update or is it simply being posted on Youtube before the update with the songs comes out?)
