The Halo Infinite armor coating system has caused controversy throughout the Halo community. There is a Halo Infinite armor coating Gamestop is offering as part of a promotion but it is the Halo Infinite color controversy that is causing the most backlash. One thing is for sure though, Halo Infinite armor customization is going to be MASSIVE. Despite the Halo Infinite color coating controversy I am still extremely excited for more news on Halo Infinite customization.

FIRST! I'm glad we can actually get some functional camo and have realistic/utilitarian armor again like Reach, I love looking like a space commando and not fighter jets.
I do hope we can get armor effects again because when people wear flaming helmets in BTB they're begging for me to snipe them from trees lol.
I Loved everything I saw in the post, I just hope the team colors are not very revealing like they are in Halo 4 and 5, I miss the team colors from 2 and reach because you could still sneak around. My favorite thing to do is hide in bushes and trees or find areas where my colors blend into the map, something Reach perfected and later games lacked… time to get the 10 last SR I need lol.
Great vid bro
I would love the ability to swap weapon models, I don't like the sniper and AR and want the Reach sniper shotgun a and CEA AR back.
I was able to do this in Halo Online I don't care if I only see it on my end.
Being able to replace gun sounds to would be great, I use this sound pack for Reach: https://www.nexusmods.com/halothemasterchiefcollection/mods/219
We will see how the armor coatings work out. Personally I favor the old school customization, but I do love the reach customization… Hope things are going well for ya pat!
Primary/secondary colors imo never were that good, at least personally when I think about halo customization I think about what kind of cool combinations I can do with my armor, and now also what kind of cool weapon skins can use or visor color or vehicle skin, I understand why people might be angry but it’s not such a big deal imo unless you only play FFA or FF and you have some weird obsession with feel that you’re using a unique color combination 🙄
I’m really glad you mentioned that the coatings are just one of the rewards for reaching 152. I’ve seen a lot of people misreading this as the ONLY reward and saying the coating isn’t worth the grid. There could be an entire armour set that they don’t want to reveal yet.
Nice halo 4 gameplay in the background love halo 4 very underrated
Wonder if infinite will have a item shop like fortnite with skins i remember when halo set trends rather than follow them still think infinite will be amazing just hate this System but maybe it will be good if they tell more
To me, the color of my spartan means just as much as the armor pieces themselves, it tells what kind of person I am. I know, multiplayer is free to play so it makes sense that 343 has to make sacrifices and so players won't have full control over their spartan.
My issue with the coating system is that I don't get to experiment with the coatings (put weapon and vehicle coatings aside), I apply it to the armor and that's it. Sure there is gonna be a ton of coatings for us but having to scroll through the menu to find the ideal coating (likely the case) really turns me down.
But honestly, now the primary and secondary color system is kinda boring compared to the coating system, and the coatings 343 showcased look gorgeous. Yet, losing the option to mix and match different colors sounds less fun (hopefully I'm wrong, need to see how the coating system really works).
Great video bty 👍
Great commentary
I’d hope there are default colors to choose from, I always play as a classic green spartan
I see a lot of potential with the armor coating system. I think if they make an unlock-able coating of every default color through challenges, MP, campaign, etc while adding future ones through a Battle Pass (while some will inevitably be in the store only) or something like that, it’ll make so many colors and variability to everyone without paying a dime.
I hope in our next “inside infinite” they’ll talk about how coatings work during RvB modes. I wonder if the primary changes but secondary remains?
Woulda been easier for them to give us the ability instead of them making thousands of patterns
They could just charge us for gun and vehicle skins and decals and stuff. Their being lazy and stingy
Honestly losing primary and secondary color options is a stupid thing to be mad about.
There's no reason to remove primary n secondary colors. Only reason is so they can make more money. And that sucks..
Personally, I like the idea of being able to finally have more than two colors on my armor and even have a different material as well. I think people blew this out of proportion and will likely change their minds if the system is executed properly. Great video Pat!
I'm going to be getting an XBSX soon so I can start playing Halo 5 again. I'm SR 92, so it will be fun to have a goal to reach to be rewarded by when Infinite releases.
They could literally remove just about anything and sooner or later the Halo 4-Infinite generation will forgive them and betray the franchise by allowing the further destruction of the Series through the exploitation of fans through systems like the Coatings. SMH truly shameful.
I finally decided to watch a video on this channel again. I been trying to mixing things up a little bit, and I haven't been watching videos on this channel for a while. I finally decided to watch a video, and II hhoope you have aa wonderful, and safe Christmas.😊
Tbh I don't think the coating stuff is even that big of a deal.
Do we pay for coatings?
I personally don’t care because I’m not interesred in customizing but I feel bad for those who do. The update did nothing to explain the change other than it seems just to make money. If only the coatings could be added piece by piece it’d be great.
To me, the modularity and player agency were always the cool things about Halo customization. Thinking back to when Halo first hooked me, I'm pretty sure those were reasons why. The best a completely artist designed coating can be is passable. Its disappointing, but I'll just have to focus on other parts of the game.
I've been playing Halo since pretty much the very beginning, and call me pessimistic but it seems like every new blog post 343 releases it makes me less happy. I just want them to do something right with the franchise for once.
