Halo Infinite Armor Coating System | More Details & Why I'm Not Worried

The Halo Infinite armor coating system has caused controversy throughout the Halo community. There is a Halo Infinite armor coating Gamestop is offering as part of a promotion but it is the Halo Infinite color controversy that is causing the most backlash. One thing is for sure though, Halo Infinite armor customization is going to be MASSIVE. Despite the Halo Infinite color coating controversy I am still extremely excited for more news on Halo Infinite customization.

  1. FIRST! I'm glad we can actually get some functional camo and have realistic/utilitarian armor again like Reach, I love looking like a space commando and not fighter jets.
I do hope we can get armor effects again because when people wear flaming helmets in BTB they're begging for me to snipe them from trees lol.
I Loved everything I saw in the post, I just hope the team colors are not very revealing like they are in Halo 4 and 5, I miss the team colors from 2 and reach because you could still sneak around. My favorite thing to do is hide in bushes and trees or find areas where my colors blend into the map, something Reach perfected and later games lacked… time to get the 10 last SR I need lol.

  2. Primary/secondary colors imo never were that good, at least personally when I think about halo customization I think about what kind of cool combinations I can do with my armor, and now also what kind of cool weapon skins can use or visor color or vehicle skin, I understand why people might be angry but it’s not such a big deal imo unless you only play FFA or FF and you have some weird obsession with feel that you’re using a unique color combination 🙄

  3. I’m really glad you mentioned that the coatings are just one of the rewards for reaching 152. I’ve seen a lot of people misreading this as the ONLY reward and saying the coating isn’t worth the grid. There could be an entire armour set that they don’t want to reveal yet.

  4. Wonder if infinite will have a item shop like fortnite with skins i remember when halo set trends rather than follow them still think infinite will be amazing just hate this System but maybe it will be good if they tell more

  5. To me, the color of my spartan means just as much as the armor pieces themselves, it tells what kind of person I am. I know, multiplayer is free to play so it makes sense that 343 has to make sacrifices and so players won't have full control over their spartan.

My issue with the coating system is that I don't get to experiment with the coatings (put weapon and vehicle coatings aside), I apply it to the armor and that's it. Sure there is gonna be a ton of coatings for us but having to scroll through the menu to find the ideal coating (likely the case) really turns me down.

But honestly, now the primary and secondary color system is kinda boring compared to the coating system, and the coatings 343 showcased look gorgeous. Yet, losing the option to mix and match different colors sounds less fun (hopefully I'm wrong, need to see how the coating system really works).

    Great video bty 👍

  6. I see a lot of potential with the armor coating system. I think if they make an unlock-able coating of every default color through challenges, MP, campaign, etc while adding future ones through a Battle Pass (while some will inevitably be in the store only) or something like that, it’ll make so many colors and variability to everyone without paying a dime.

I hope in our next “inside infinite” they’ll talk about how coatings work during RvB modes. I wonder if the primary changes but secondary remains?

  7. Personally, I like the idea of being able to finally have more than two colors on my armor and even have a different material as well. I think people blew this out of proportion and will likely change their minds if the system is executed properly. Great video Pat!

  8. They could literally remove just about anything and sooner or later the Halo 4-Infinite generation will forgive them and betray the franchise by allowing the further destruction of the Series through the exploitation of fans through systems like the Coatings. SMH truly shameful.

  10. To me, the modularity and player agency were always the cool things about Halo customization. Thinking back to when Halo first hooked me, I'm pretty sure those were reasons why. The best a completely artist designed coating can be is passable. Its disappointing, but I'll just have to focus on other parts of the game.
