  1. Corlys velaryon looks badass!

If you think he’s the wrong actor to cast, think again:
    1) Dragon riders were known to have pale skin, House velaryon were NOT dragon riders
    2) Corlys’s mother is unknown
    3) Valyria was a multi-cultured nation, specifically it says that valyrians have silver/gold hair and lilac eyes, no mention of skin color.
    4) future Targaryen kings are not descendants of Corlys Velaryon
    5) House Velaryon were known to sail from port to port, u can’t tell me they didn’t sleep with people of different races

Do not hate. Grow up. Don’t be ignorant

  2. I'm all for diversity in casting and have nothing against Steve Toussaint as an actor, I'm sure he's great. It's just Valyrians are some of the palest individuals in the World of Ice and Fire, this is established multiple times in the series. That's just a fact of the series.

  3. Honestly, I don't know if I'm ready…
A burn like that never fully heals. My heart cant take another disappointment.
I kinda wish they'd just do something entirely new, so there's no source material to compare it to… but I also think they'd fuck that up.
Idk.. maybe if D&D are FAR FAR away from this project, I'll consider it.. but whatever.. HBO already had my money, so I doubt they give a shit if I actually watch it.

  4. I love Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower! In Vanity Fair she was a schemer, so it'll be cool to see her playing Alicent. I also like how they cast a black actor for Corlys Velaryon and how there's going to be focus on other characters who are poc, like Mysaria.

  5. Matt Smith is in it? Already a failure. Guys a one trick pony with no dynamic energy. He is the same character in everything. This is going to be horrible, especially because it's clear he's a Targaryan. It looks like he's playing the son of the chick who tries to take the throne in the books. He gets burned alive by a dragon. If so that will be the only good thing Matt Smith does in this show.

  6. Thanks I haven't seen any talk about this since the Covid thing started. It is worth giving it a go. (If the two jerks who took the money and ran with season 8 are gone. And I know they are.) I like Martin's stories. So due them I will watch.

  7. Can people please stop bitching about the last GoT season! Yes it was shit, but this is a new show.
And most importantly: D&D are NOT part of this AND they are adapting a finished book, so just stfu and wait before you judge.

Edit: And almost as important: Ramin Djawadi is doing the music again!!!!!

  8. Am I the only one over GoT? Bring on the Conan the Barbarian series. Give Steven DeKnight an Elric or Karl Edward Wagner's Kane series to do. I am so not excited about more Game of Thrones.
