  1. I have to admit that the restone showroom is a nice touch. The restone behavior is so counter-intuitive that many beginners don't know where / how to start learning it, and the jungle temple was not exactly helpful for that matter.

  2. I raided 2 ancient cities, my first city I died many times, used the egg tactic some youtubers recommend, I don't recommend it, the more noise the warden picks up the angrier he gets. Raided second city without dying once, used a lot of wool and if the Warden starts spawning fly away and wait, the warden despawns really fast if you don't anger him. I highly recommend looting ancient cities the compass alone is worth the risk, but the best you can find in a ancient is swift sneak, must have enchantment for pants, makes building faster while holding shift

  3. I have been raiding ancient cities for over 3 weeks now. The key is to take out the shulk sensors (cuz shreakers take a bit longer to mine and also in key points are three or more) even while the warden is still spawning, so the site is neutralized for the next visit. Then use an ender pearl to throw in a direction that you have put your mind on beforehand, wait for the bastard to despawn and then just enderpearl back. That way back is recommended, because when you land properly, you don't even set off any sensors, if there are still some. I successfully looted a dozen of ancient cities by now and only fell victim to the Warden once in the beginning.

  4. Pro Tip: bring a bed, Ender Pearls of course and also a set of secondary armor, even iron armor will do, as long as the boots have feather falling. Place the bed, tap on the bed so you respawn there after you die. Place a chest next to the bed and put all your valuable items in there, like primary armor, elytra and everything you really do not want to lose. You don't need armor in an ancient city, because there are seldomly mobs to be found there and those should be easy to take out with a lesser set of armor and any cheap sword.

This way, if you get killed by the warden and should not be able to make it back in time, you will not cry like a baby over your stuff. Also the bed will help to respawn you in the area again, so you can continue ransacking the city.

Use silk touch enchantment, if you want to keep the sensors and shriekers to build a base alarm later or something. No worries, shriekers placed down arbitrarily by players do not summon the warden anymore.

  5. One ancient city I was in spawned with a shrieker right next to the chest in the ice room. So when you open the trapdoor the shrieker went off. So now I just avoid the ice rooms since the loot isn’t good anyway

  6. The note blocks on the top of the ice box is meant as a trap, since even if the player is sneaking, if they step on the pressure plate and trigger the note blocks, I think (I never tested this) that it sets off any nearby sensors/shriekers.

  7. I found that breaking the chest is much better than opening it as opening the chest has the potential to alert the shriekers twice (once opening and then when it closes) and breaking only does it once.

  8. I’m assuming the ice in the ice room was how the ancient city essentially kept a refrigerator in order to store all their perishables. Weird how you don’t have to worry about perishable items ever in Minecraft but hey it looks cool 😎

  9. I dont think it was built by the pillagers , I think it was raided by them and they started rebuilding it as they raided it and collected wool to help them in their quest to conquer it and they ultimately failed because the warden protected his turf.

  10. I think that the ancient builders are the ones that made the ancient cities and the ice room is made to store snow balls to distract the warden if they summoned him by accident

I think that the ancient builders tried to benifit from the warden by building the city near the warden so he try to kill any thing that makes a noise

  11. When looting an Ancient City for the first time, also bring along and anvil (or enough iron to make one) so the Swift Sneak enchantment can be applied to leggings ASAP.
