  1. Environment is probably interactive because of the world generation state. When generating a world it probably has all of the biomes already mapped out and their destructible environments orientated.
That’s why when you go to mistlands right now there isn’t really anything to do but you can fuck shit up lol

  2. It could be a potential WIP way out in the future that doesn't have land generations based in the procedural generation algorithm. So they pulled it way off of the map and outside of procedural generation areas of the actual map. I imagine whatever the implementation of it, you would ha e to create a new seed after they implement it into the orginal base game. But yeah, could very well be a desert biome that they are working on but after they finish Deep North, Ash Lands, and Mist Lands.

  3. Pretty sure it's nothing
Map is generated, below a certain point you enter the kill zone to prevent you from leaving the map
The desert biome youre seeing is just the ocean floor
It's possible that past a certain point it just defaults to ashlands

  4. Here's my guess.

The game world uses a seed for terrain generation much like minecraft. There's a forced fixed "world border" "biome" where the ocean starts and the water falls down and there's flat land. When you go out past that "World border ocean biome" the seeded terrain generation is still actively in effect which gives you this terrain. The terrain itself is just the ocean floor texture with the seeded noise generation creating those small hills and such.

[biome_ashlands] is probably the default tag for the mini-map when the game doesn't know where you are.

I think this is just a quirk of the game engine and not any WIP area, personally. Cool video though, I love OOB content from games, very interesting.

  5. Its probably an area you can portal to from the ashlands or something along those lines. The crypts and burial chambers are located in the sky, way above the world tree because if you use the teleport command while inside a crypt or chamber it spawns you really high up in the air. When you teleport you always end up at the same altitude as what you were at when you teleported so this means the crypts and chambers are located above the world.
