you could have just made a tree house in the swamp on the Non-Damageable trees or Raise Ground 2-3 Times so your on a Raised Platform they cant go up the flat side.
When putting the floor tiles down and they was not grounded, stand on higher ground and level will raise to that level. just level the ground up to the floors. for your smelter you cant place it in a wall, BUT you can chop the wall Back then place it then raise ground to Fill the chopped out area back around it. funny though you didn't want to take the ores back to smelt, but you still have to take the smelted ores back as well by ship LoL
FYI – you run slower with weapon and shield drawn – put them away when you need to run away from trolls and such!

Love the cozy little underground base. I hope you keep playing and making Valheim videos. Later on, when you get to the mountains biome, there's many huge slabs of stone there, I was just thinking today that those could fit a pretty big underground base beneath them.
Any reason you haven't made a cape yet? It should provide some extra protection which is always useful to have.
Don't stop now, I want to see how you handle the swamps and the plains. Going to have to steal this idea for a cave base to store my important goods.
Invest in a fermenter and a few minor stamina potions they will likely save your life at some point when you need to run away.
Troll hack!!! If you cut down trees you can push them around to make a circle, the trolls will not cross over felled trees. As long as you don't agro them they won't attack the felled trees. It's fun, you should try it.
I definitely want to see more of this, it's a lot of fun to watch your creations and adventures!!!
for the love of god…….put your weapons away while running to preserve stamina. youre killing me wooodes lol
The swamp has indestructible trees that you can build treehouses in also that cannot be attacked by any of the enemies. The trees actually act as a support structure for your base.

hey man u can build under the elder altar u have the altar like a roof and is indestructible, The only thing looking for an altar that is above sea level at a good height so you can have enough depth.
