➀Dyson Sphere Program Info:

Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.

In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed – a machine whose superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.

You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing Dyson Spheres (a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its power and energy) to produce the energy that humanity needs. Only a few decades ago, Dyson Spheres were considered a hypothetical, impossible invention – but now it’s in your hands… Will you be able to turn a backwater space workshop into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire?

Neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants, gaseous and rocky planets… There is a big and varied universe out there, waiting for you to gather all its resources.

Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?

As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.

Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line – the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!

– Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy

– Develop your very own Dyson Spheres, a megastructure that orbits around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw to its completion
Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…

– Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen, gaseous planets…
Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover the secrets of the universe
Build mechasto fly, sail or jump through outer space and alien planets

– Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!

– Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique

– Design a balanced power network capable of producing energy in all kinds of power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars, etc.

  1. There is no way to restore the sea… yet (sad face). And that symbol means that one or more veins it covers are running low. The rest of the reserve may be find, as evident by the other miner not showing the symbol. And you're also not covering the entire reserve.

Nice side tip, since you have unlocked logistics stations and this will save you some time. You can grab items from them in the world view (m) and place them in your inventory. Simply click on one, right click the item you want and select the amount, then place them in your inventory. So if you automate belts etc. feed them into a tower instead of storage. So you can always grab some easily when you run out with out have to run back and forth.

Also, use + button to increase the size of the foundation tool.

  2. mate use your planetary stations. Build a station and build an arrays of smelters around it. The place another station next to a stone patch etc and build miners , adds some ship and you are good to go. when the patch runs out move the miners and they station to the next one.

  3. You know you can hold shift to disable the grid snapping on the miners, that way you can easily get more nodes in it's reach (I usually aim for at least 7, preferably 9-10 veins). It also allows you to rotate the building smoothly.

  4. As far as I know there is no way to unbuild a foundation, so once water is covered up it's gone. Would be nice if the dev had some water tiles as you can pick up water from the pumps. Maybe there is a mod out there for it, but I haven't tried looking for mods as I want my first play through to vanilla like what you are doing.

  5. why using collectors to put it from one lane to the next insteadf of having one big belt between the inner and outer and just move it over from one to the next, i dont see an actual benefit from spliting it up this way to later then put it back on to the same belt again, your just creating the fake thought of having more capacity aviable then you actually have by having the second third of the path double the capacity then the first and the third thid of it which will screw you over later.

  6. Bif you don't get much Hydrogen from a single Orbiter on a gas giant, I have 4 down on mine already but could easily put more.

Also some gas giant will give you 50 50 Fire Ice and Hydrogen where as some are weighted giving more Fire Ice, maybe some with more hydrogen too IDK.

  7. To get the filters to work on the sorters, make sure you have items on the conveyor already, I usually build the coveyor up to the collection point, put a few on it so it back up under where I am going to put the sorter, place the sorter with filter, then build rest of conveyor reconnect to next part.

If the conveyors don't have anything on that section you won't see in the filter list.

  8. I was wondering when you were going to realize the logistics station only has 3 available slots.

I was then promptly floored when you said you thought they were UNLIMITED……. I don't even. Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your tea? I'd check it.

  9. Biffa, take a look at splitters. If you have two or three inputs to a single splitter, it will round-robin which one it takes (by default), or you can set a priority source. Outputs can be set as a priority or even filtered (also round-robin by default), so that the specified output side only sends the filtered item, nothing else, and the filtered item won't go out a different side. Unfortunately, you can only set one output priority (and whatever filter you specify has to be the priority), and only one input priority, but with only four sides, that's usually not an issue.

Also, there are three configurations for splitters. When you go to place it, press tab to cycle through them (before you've placed it). They are: flat 4-way (the default, it's a cross with four ports at ground level), a sort of "raised" 2-way (two ports opposite each other on the ground level, and a port above each of those at what I would call level 2, or one tick off the ground), and a raised 4-way (cross, two opposite ports at ground, the other two sides raised by one).

Splitters take up a 3×3 square, so they aren't exactly compact, but they work at full belt speed (even with Mk. III belts, so 30 items/second), and they allow some really powerful and [relatively] compact level changing. If you're interested in how these can be used to their maximum extent, take a look at "main bus" strategies.

Honestly, splitters will change your experience with this game. Sorters are nice, but have a specific purpose, usually to input items to storage or machines. Splitters are so much better for doing logistics with tons of items. Also, splitters don't use any power (not that that's an issue at the stage of the game you're at).

  10. This is art – it doesn't matter if theres a better way to do it.!!!
    1. Unload the belts faster than they load to avoid a clog-stop.
    2. Only 3 items coming in – so periodically change them.
    3. Set the 20ish ring storage chest to items in alphabetical order!
    4. I've not played the game but keep the "mixed items on the one belt" theme if possible.
    5. ! Have 5 big transfer towers in the centre of a Mahooosive roundabout set up ! ?…with a 100+- storage boxes on the outside ring.
😎One ring to rule them all 😎

  11. How about you place the towers on the outside and feed them into the center by conveyor? Then you place the chargers also in the middle. Remove a ring or two from the inside. And add more on the outside. My guess 10towers and 30 chests would be ideal. If I end up buying this game I will definitely try that!

  12. What is the restore ore vein option in the menu where you can select foundation? Would that keep you from re-locating mining facilities? I have played the game, but haven't tried this out yet. I'm a cheater who set the resources to "infinite".

  13. My sprawl makes your planet look super empty. I'm at the point where I'm like "where's some damned space to build this giant plastics factory complex so I can make blue fiberoptics wazzit faster?" and you're still just like "how can I optimize hydrogen storage…" Today I'm going to make my warp fuel factory so I can go check out OsPegasai.

Well, that thing certainly looked mesmerizing..not really sure if it's as functional as youd like it to be though..πŸ€”πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™€οΈ

  15. As cool as that looks and it does look cool, you are going to need the polls for a couple future items, namely the rail gun and the power thing.. cant think of its name right now. They dont have to go near the poll but both get better performance if they are constantly connected to the swarm when you make it, which really only happens at the poll.

  16. Hmm surely you could have had just one conveyor running round in front of all the chests with vertical ones joining it from all the outputs? Then the chests can pick their item off of it. I've never played this so I could be wrong but it seems like you've given yourself extra work.

  17. Wow — I can't believe he had the patience to get to interstellar tech and still make everything by hand — 10 minute fabricator queues boggle the mind. I went the opposite direction: automated every item/component and building as it came available. Makes expanding across the planets, and ultimately stars, infinitely easier.
