  2. I’d like to see the people who say the games aren’t connected say that now there’s literally the yae family symbol from Honkai in Genshin and a pink haired girl called yae

  3. Yae's Self Introduction = Chinese 我是鳴神大社宮司、八重神子 ;English>>> I am the Guuji (宮司=Chief Priest) of Narukami鳴神 Shrine大社, Yae(八重) Miko(神子 ; Miko is Japanese>>read as "shenzi" in Chinese).

Because Inazuma is Japan culture, so the Kanji pronunciation will be different from Chinese.
Yae(八重) is the surname, everyone knows that.

神子 is the tricky part here. 神子pronunce as "shenzi" in Chinese, but in Japanese language, it has double meaning and 2 to 4 different pronunciations. 神子=みこ=MIKO=巫女 which means shrine maiden literally; 神子 and 巫女 read as MIKO is the most common pronunciation when refering to a girl in Japanese.

神子 can also pronunce as "かみこkamiko" "かみごkamigo"”しんじshinji” and many other substitutes exist, but they all means the Child子 of Gods神, which by the way is just another interpretation of 巫女shrine maiden, which is said to be the child/messager of gods to communicate with believers. These pronunciations are seldomly used, mainly in written language like novel would you encounter them.
It will be very bizarre to name a girl kamiko or shinji in Japanese, so I am pretty sure the Japanese version will settle on Yae(八重) Miko(神子).

alternatively, miHoYo loves Evangelion reference, so instead of Yae(八重) Miko(神子) which is a female name , they may use the male name Yae(八重) Shinji(神子) for her instead. You know, Shinji Ikari (碇シンジ, "Ikari Shinji") , the Third Child, pilot of EVA-01, Child of God. Baal is collecting Visions and building a statue to enhance her power, maybe the statue is a Mech and Shinji can pilot it. Sounds like something Honkai would do though

Lastly, maybe Miko(神子) is not her real name, it could be just another Shinto title like the Guuji.
Miko(神子) is literally shrine maiden so it can be a title of honor, refering her as Maiden Yae.

Japanese language and Chinese both use Kanji, but Japanese is a language system using multi-meanings/pronunciations, you can pick a Kanji like 神子 to express the meaning first, then choose the pronunciation to fit the aesthetics, that's why you cannot directly translate Japanese into Chinese in many cases.

  4. Yae Sakura(Honkai) = Yae Shinze(Genshin)
    Rolando(Honkai) = Eula(Genshin)
    Zhong Li(Genshin) = Adam(Honkai)
    Otto(Genshin) = Otto(Honkai)
