I don't agree with all the criticism in the comments. I've had a SV main since Legion, and the class has felt stale since BFA. Finally decided to switch in Shadowlands after being extremely disappointed with the lack of changes. Survival is dead, and will remain so unless Blizzard takes action.
I play BM and MM, depending on the expansion and if I'm raiding or not. BM right now, it is just a solid spec, no frills, DPS seems a little low but I do wish it had a big burst damage ability though. SV hunters have always been the joke of the hunter class, all the way back to Vanilla.
I do not wanty to make survival into ranged again. It only need some tweaks and thats all. And content like that gonna make even less people playing it. Its highly unproffesional to skip entire spec, just because you havent got enough time to do it.
Honestly man? It’s a real shame you didn’t cover SV. It’s the spec i know least about. And to make a video explaining how and why to play a spec, it’s really sad to just skip a spec because it doesnt have many players. Really a pity.
If you're not into high level mythic or raiding just play whats fun because at a lower level it truly does not matter.
I haven’t played consistently since beginning of WoD, but I’ve followed class development. I was a huge fan of the survival class fantasy they developed for legion, and it’s sad to see that it’s essentially dead. I’ll admit though, The few times I’ve jumped on to my hunter I haven’t chosen survival at all. With all the other melee specs it does feel silly to pick a melee hunter over the awesome mobile ranged specs unique to the class. Hopefully they have a cool rework planned for the future.
We play hunters for the fantasy of shooting Arrows and playing with pets. Why they thought a melee hunter was a good idea, I will never know. Maybe if Survival was supposed to dance in and out of melee range and they made different bursts for each distance and the point was to go back and forth. Would have worked better… but not as it is now.
I just love.. and here I must stress LOVE how Blizz made a decision to make Survival a melee spec – taking out one mobile ranged spec (of three total) from the game and then just neglect it. People are not playing it, the numbers are clear. And Blizz have made no effort to fix it. Thank you for nothing! The 1st thing I check every new expansion announcement is wether they made Survival a ranged spec again. I miss it so much… sigh
Stop advocating for the forcing of all Hunter specs having to be ranged. More classes should have specs that change play styles between ranged and melee. For example, if you want more ranged specs, then advocate for Blizzard to add a 3rd spec to DH that revolves around ranged damage. They could throw around their blades, summon felfire, etc. It would give another option of dps for DH's who don't like Havoc, while adding another range spec to a game dominated with melee specs. It would also provide competition for gear with Balance & Resto Druids who have sole taking of Int leather gear.
BM: I have the biggest and coolest pets that will tear your face off!
MM: i'm basically a sniper turret that can put a hole through a coin that was tossed in the air!

You're pronouncing Heroism incorrectly. It's pronounced "Bloodlust".
I'm maining MM hunter, had to swap from Night Fae to Kyrian because Night Fae is really bad in Arena sadly. Though the Kyrian armor is way sweeter. I hope they change survival soon, spec is fun but dmg is underwhelming and only really good in Arena.

Started playing mm after shadowlands released and it might be my favorite class/spec now. I was struggling on melee aoe classes like havoc dh, but playing a ranged class with a mini tank? Chef kiss.
Those 3 people who wanted a melee SV hunter have robbed the Hunter community of so much. WOW didn't need another melee class, and the vast majority of Hunters certainly didn't want one. With only 2 Hunter specs now, WOW has shoved BM and MM into tidy little boxes and spent an inordinate amount of time and resources trying to make SV palatable. Resources that could have been used improving and evolving the class that Hunters actually want.

I was a survival hunter in Wrath, back when it was still a ranged spec. Yes I would like to see it back.
I don't understand why so many people want complete survival change. If you want to play ranged, go play BM or MM. Most of the hunter players are just lazy af to learn melee hunter spec, or don't want to, because they suck at it.
I do think there's room for a melee hunter spec. Maybe not under the same name as an older ranged spec, and maybe not with the current mechanics, but the fantasy of fighting side-by-side with your pet is pretty solid.

I love that you make content for veterans and new people alike. Could you make a comprehensive macro video like your keybind video? I am playing windwalker and I am pretty sure Blizz does not want me to use 30 buttons

Why would you want to play a melee hunter? If you want to go melee, you can play a melee class, like rogue or DH. Blizzard really dropped the ball on this spec, but they just won't admit it and don't want to put resources in to fix it. I guess they were inspired by Rexxar and wanted to create a specc like that. Survival spec was really good in Cata, after that the spec went to shit.
Maining arms warrior pve. Mostly top 5 dmg in raids. Wish I generated a bit more rage, but mostly I have fun playing it. Fury feels weak and prot is really boring.
I dont know if it is any fun but it must be brainless af to 3 shot other players

I really wish that the beginner specs like BM o H-DH were tunned in a fair way. So, yes, you can have the mobility and your 3 button rotation, but in return you're in the bottom of the dps spectrum. Is kinda sad seeing the "newbie basic classes" do more dps than specs that actually require thinking. Skill should be rewarded.
I love to play BM, but MM is just to broken atm and I want to push content. That's the reason I play MM for now, when BM gets better or MM got nerfed then I will probarbly switch to BM again 🙂
