Can New World be Amazon’s first gaming win, or will it be another Crucible, Grand Tour or Breakaway? The ambition is there… but is the execution? Supported …

  1. Really good video man god I am the veteran its crazy to think I have played many of the best mmos and some of the not so good ones since 1990s! NEW WORLD looked ok juststreamers complained about content and how mobs looked same etc. ASHES OF CREATION has the possibility to be the NEXT WOW if they do it right.

  2. I played heavily during the preview, the stress test, and all external alphas, and here's my take: yes, the game lacks content. Yes, the game needs more incentive for territory wars and needs more battlegrounds-esque combat modes. NO, the combat cooldowns don't need changing. Only the traditional tab-target ability-based players want that, but it would remove all strategic decisions from combat due to creating a meta of ability spamming rather than using abilities as a supplement to the core combat mechanics.

I think that New World will be wildly successful for a somewhat niche part of the mmo gaming community, since it feels more like online skyrim rather than a normal mmorpg. I can't wait to see how they expand and improve the game, and I'll be there when they do.

  3. The crafting was amazing. The world is beautiful. And gathering was pretty okay. But the rest was very much meh… They set you up for a grant story with the intro. But then the quest after that is just one big storyless repeat of kill quests and collection quests. The varsity of enemies is extremely limited. Ranged combat is so unbalanced compared to melee (if you want a good time, play melee). All in all, it has a lot of work that needs to be done for it to be good

  4. I played the beta. The game doesn't really have anything special that makes it stand out. The magic weapons were just awful. Refunded. Guild Wars 2 PvE was actually pretty good.

  5. Watching videos of this game, it's literally gloria victis, slightly more polished, lots and lots of things in common. And no, being the same game genre doesn't mean it's supposed to be THIS much like it.

  6. new world isn't a pvp driven game anymore thats old news. it's pve without content for long term players and a pvp system thats lacking in every way possible..sadly though

hope the time they have can improve the game enough so it's dying as fast as crucible

  7. Oh WildStar, wish some company brought it back and fixed the little issues.
Really liked the stylized sci-fi aesthetic, the humour, combat, crafting, housing….. but they were too greedy and wanted Blizzard's big money NOW and ignored the fact WoW was already in the market for years.
First impressions killed off a game with great potential. Terrible monetization, bugs and lack of end game content. Companies still haven't learned how to ship a flawless product.

  8. The latency issue is what makes me consider focusing on a tab-targeting spec in AoC and also that the only solution currently known ahead in time to be Elon Musk's Starlink

  9. From the ppl I know who played that last beta, they all liked it and think it will be good. I'm still skeptical since there hasn't been a good mmorpg for a long time.

  10. End game?
Get rid of vertical leveling progression, spread crafting recipes all around the world, implement a horizontal character progression of skills, you could do with gear too like BDO does, all of a sudden the game itself becomes the end game, boom, you are welcome

  11. I picked up FFXIV recently. I haven't made it to the expansions yet. But so far the cinematics and the content isn't really that good. It is on par in terms of quality with the WoW ingame cinematics. I have been assured, that once I get into DLC content the quality of the story and the cinematics really picks up and gets really good. The starting experience though is utter dogshit. You get questlines that send you across the continent to kill one fucking trash mob and then send you back. Or you get to talk to some guy on the other side of the map and then get send back. And that is literally 95% of the starting experience!

  12. Opt in pvp killed this game, they should have stuck to their guns and locked it in as a pvp game but instead they tried to keep the cry baby masses happy and striped it of all it's teeth.
