LATE GAME How to Build a Dyson Sphere – jumping over research pitfalls – Dyson Sphere Program Stream

In this Twitch Stream of Dyson Sphere Program we explore the end game of building a Dyson Sphere. As you might expect, the process is involved. In this stream I start by cleaning up some of my early game logistics mistakes and then work on production to get more Quantum Chips — they’re needed both for Green Research Matrix (Matrices) and the Small Carrier Rocket that actually takes the chunks of sphere you built up and around the star. We also take a look at the Dyson Sphere designing screen — as well as the pitfall I ran into. There is a key research tech you need to complete to be able to build more than just a Dyson Ring. But by the end of the stream, we’re straight up working on a Dyson Sweater. Not bad.

Also in this stream is lots of interplanetary and interstellar travel, discussion of the state of early access, and lots and lots and lots of me going around my base and then wondering “What was I doing again?” Building a Dyson Sphere is an ambitious task — and the end game of DSP reflects that.

Maybe the best stream session I’ve ever done. At least for this game. Certainly the best in awhile. In this stream we try to balance the logistics of launching Dyson Sphere components into space and necessary research that allows us to do more than create a Dyson Ring. Along the way we have fun with fossil fuels, dig through spaghetti, laugh at freight carriers who decided to skip warping between planets, and eventually start building our first true Dyson Sphere in earnest.

  1. Just hold down the left mouse button while picking up materials from the belt and it will pick it up more quickly. Saved me a lot of time especially on the mark II and mark III belts. Great looking automation though!

  2. For power I rather just collect hydrogen and deuterium from gas giants and burn it into thermal power plants 😂. Every collector I. The gas giant collects about 2H per second and each thermal reactor burns 1H every 5 seconds so per hydrogen collector I get 10 thermal generators worth of power, it’s just a beer easy power source and much more energy and space efficient than a bunch of solar panels.

  3. I've been watching some videos on this game. I love the idea of building a Dyson swarm and gathering the materials for it. I'm just not sure on the actual gameplay of just building tons and tons of factories….which does make sense. To build a Dyson swarm you would need to harvest entire planets so i'm wondering how that would work. Also what is the end game benefit of building the swarm. This game has so much potential when thinking abuot it….i think for $20 I'll just give it a shot.

  4. As for finding your thing. Just hook everything to logics towers and centerline everything to one place. That what I do and I have interstellar that ships my really important one to all of my planets. Like belt and sorters.

  5. To edit the orbit of your Dyson Sphere you need to remove all the nodes for that layer. After all the nodes have been removed you can then edit to orbital parameters. I found this out by making a 2nd layer and want to delete it but could not till all the nodes had been removed. Hope this helps.

  6. Just a thought, I was making spacewarpers on the starter planet and feeding them into the Interplanatairy stations as a resources for other planets, and setting it to demand on the planets also doing inter planet transport. So it auto fills itself.

  7. First Planet: HUB and Mall Planet just Building all the Buildings you need.
Laval Planet: Only Makes the Dyson Sphere Thing and give Ice Planet Titanium
Ice Planet: Just making Research and get the Organic Cristalls from elsewere.

Thats how i Run this Game, but i guess everyone has his own System behind 🙂

He keeps adding more assemblers for the crystal/glass production but why hasn't he added another output on that storage or put a faster sorter to pull items? His problem is he isn't getting crystals all the way down the line…

  9. Gas giant, depends on which one you got, exploit that for hydrogen to fill in whatever is lacking for dueterium / chip making. its like tapping an oil node, it just mines it all day.. every day.

  10. 50 hours in and my resource nodes are starting to be depleted. Glad i at least have Green Science production up and running. I still have other planets in my system, but I'm still feeling the resource scarcity squeeze.

  11. This has probably already been mentioned, but;

    1. When feeding a belt with a stack, you can just hold the mouse button, no need to wear it out by spamming.

    2. Inserting resources directly into a tower: Pick up the stack, then drop them on the item's icon.

    3. Hold SHIFT (for current stack) or CTRL (for all stacks) to move them more easily (also works for drones working in a tower, but not supply/demand items). Also, emptying out your inventory into a storage, hold CTRL then click in your inventory (not on an item), discovered this one by accident, clicking before i highlighted the miner I didn't need 🤣

  12. your skipping to many steps you have to automate everything like before you even mess with the dyson you ned at least all mk2 belts and way more satellites i have it all automatic and have a constant 10k satellites in the sky

No I don't know that. Because it's wrong.
That's how neutron stars are formed.
White dwarfs are formed when a red giant star isn't massive enough to fuse carbon in its core. As it expands and sheds its outer layer it leaves this core – now consisting of mostly carbon and oxygen – behind. This is a white dwarf.

  14. The only thing oil is needed for later is plastic. Other stuff can be had much much faster in other ways. Hydrogen and deuterium from gas giants. Then feed the hydrogen to some 50 fractionators in a loop. Colliders suck for deuterium production ( too slow, too much power). Sulfuric acid u get from acid planets, graphene can be made from FI, organic crystals from special planets too.
