  2. I'm fine with it being a more bland pre season in terms of overall new stuff. Apart from the memes and sh*t like that, I do genuinely think that the new Champs are not too strong or overloaded overall. This idea of "all the new Champs are overloaded" began with Aphelios and continued with Akshan, who are literally the only truly overloaded recent champs. Then when it comes to "all the new Champs are broken" that's simply bullsh*t (leaving Mundo out of the argument cuz he isn't necessarily a new champ altogether). Akshan had 36% winrate, Viego 41%, Gwen 39% and so on and so forth (the only exceptions being Aphelios and Samira, those two were kinda busted). And believe me, I ain't just saying this cuz I feel like it, I've been with this game since it's open beta, my words come from experience, and believe me, the game has never been as balanced as it currently is, again, I'm not joking, I've seen some crazy sh*t throughout the years, I can make countless examples off the top of my head if you want me to. That's all, these are my thoughts and considerations

  3. The difference between feel and numbers is a huge topic that a lot of game devs need to always take into account when it comes to game balance. I remember season 2 Nidalee was the perfect example of this. I often found myself winning against Nidalee but it didn't change the fact that she could randomly land a max range spear late game and the game is just over, the worst part was the fact the longer the game went the higher the chance she would just randomly land a game ending spear. While I had a pretty decent 50ish% win rate against it making it fairly balanced it just never felt fun to play against and that is why riot changed her in the first place.

  4. This has been the worst year for new champs imo in terms of both game balance and narrative now that we know Vex will be the last new champ this year.

Strategy for Pre-Season just seems to be more swinging gold mechanics that punish you for being ahead, a gameplay philosophy that League completely has embraced to delude you into thinking you always have agency when it really just dilutes the competitive experience
