  1. I got this guy right when he came out and managed to play a single game with him during the summer. About 1000 points of grey knights deepstriked behind him turn 2. I yeeted him into the blob and auto exploded him next turn. The explosion finished almost everything he was tanking. That was fun.

  2. After 75 hours assembling and painting this guy, I played my first game with him last weekend. He was a house. After turn 2 my friend became convinced that his army didn't have the firepower to take him out, even if he was able to focus everything on him. And the menhirs just chunk through all the heavy hitters. The silent king is a monster. Should be 500 points or more, frankly.

  3. You got his name right at the beginning of the video! Yay! Now just keep that up, and you can just add "ahn" to that for the dynasty name. 😉

All kidding aside, Szarekh is a beast. 26 effective wounds with a 3+/4++ is nasty! His buffs and his own offensive strength make him a threat that can't be denied, but he's so tanky that he'll endure a ton of firepower. The only downside to him is that he is pretty dang expensive, and as such you'll basically be building your whole army around him at 2000 points or less. I'm definitely looking forward to fielding him in a "bring your whole collection" gigantic battle.

  4. I know it is somewhat controversial but Stellar Alignment actually restores his ability to use Staff of the Stars and Scythe of Dust. You treat Szarekh 'as if' he is on FULL wound profile. There is nothing in the rules that say those two abilities are permanently lost. For example they can come back if living metal brings him back up above 4 or 8. GW has had two chances in FAQ to address this directly and they have not. So RAW it works.
